would department store cosmetics counters hire me if...?
I have had 2 years experience starting at age 16 selling oriflame cosmetics at a small commercial space in Romania. My husband and I owned the place and sold a lot of cosmetics and fragrances. I am very passionate about what colors go with what, skin care, etc.
My mom use to work for Elizebeth Arden, and she taught me everything I know from an early age.
I am 18 now and married, finished with highschool, and am looking for a full time job at a cosmetics counter, do you think they would hire if I told them that. (It is true)

Sure why not? As long as you can speak English without too much of an accent you should have no trouble. Tell them exactly what you have written here and bring a resume so they can refer to it. Good Luck.

Absolutely, If you want to ensure that you get the job start at the lower end cosmetics counters first. They pay less but the longer you stay with them you can move up to the bigger name cosmetics companies like Chanel and Elizabeth Arden counters. Or start at ULTA as a make-up artist. They dont pay much but you'll be doing what you love.

That would help. You also need to make sure you go in to the interview looking FANTASTIC, makeup and clothes absolutely perfect. I have known a few women who have worked at makeup counters, and they said that the women they worked for were the vainest people on earth, so you have to look perfect.
