I will be doing a series of these questions over the next week for you to reply on every pick in the first round, starting with this one: the number one pick. Each day, a different team will be on the clock.

The player will be selected based on the number of votes, the best answer will given to the person who has the best explanation/reason for the pick.

Now it's your turn to select the next pick...

Here is a list of possible players going at this pick:

Tiago Splitter

Josh McRoberts

Ante Tomic

Nick Young

Marco Belinelli

Rudy Fernández

Gabe Pruitt

Javaris Crittenton

Alando Tucker

The Wizards will pick Josh McRoberts

He is a very good back to the basket player and can finish near the rim with his left and right hand

With so many perimeter oriented guys like Butler, Jamison and Arenas demanding attention, McRoberts will be able to get plenty of opportunities to go one on one down low.

He is the interior scorer that the Wizards desperately need. If he isn't scoring, he looks to contribute in other ways such as passing, setting screens, etc.

They say he is an above average passer but I'm not sure he is.

Defensively he can be a liability if he goes up against guys like Big Z and Shaq cuz he's not athletic enough or has the foot speed and strength to matchup with those guys.

I think he'll do well against perimeter oriented forwards and centers in the east such as nenad kristic, chris bosh or rasheed wallace.

The Wizards have very poor offensive talent in the center/pf spot (other than jamison) so he would be a welcome addition to this washington wizards team

Here's what the lineup would look like

    C McRoberts

    PF Jamison

    SF Caron Butler

    SG Stevenson (Need perimeter defense)

    PG Arenas

Its time once again in the draft to go with a foreighn player and the best one that would fit with the wizards would be Tiago Splitter. He may seem like a work in progress but the wizards really need a low post prescence and Splitter may just be worth the gamble. He has a good offensive game and he moves well without the ball in the post. He has a soft touch around the rim and he uses his quickness to grab rebounds and set up in transition offenses. He needs to get stronger and get better at defense so he can have a chance in the NBA. Haywood was not happy with his minutes and may leave so taking Splitter here would be a good pickup for the wizards

    Nick Young

They've got decent big men in Thomas, Songaila, and Blatche, and this team is just not built for tough rebounding and defense. Drafting McRoberts or Splitter really won't help them. They need to score and score a lot to win. Besdies Butler and Arenas, no one on that team really plays defense...and you can forget about team defense.

So they go and get another offensive weapon. Stevenson was decent during the regular season but was horrible in the playoffs. He needs to be regulated to coming off the bench. Young would give the Wizards another slasher who can also shoot. Plus, it seems like a few Wizards get injured every year...so a Nick Young would help shoulder the offensive load. Trying to pick up defense for a team that really doesn't play any isn't going to help them. They should just continue to improve what they're already good at...scoring! Pick Nick Young!

I agree that the charges, Browns, Cowboys, Buccs and Rams are set at QB. even regardless of the undeniable fact that, Tarvaris Jackson (or as you prefer, "the black quarterback at the back of brett favre") sucks. He has a rocket arm and is a real solid athlete, yet he's been interior the NFL for a mutually as and has achieved truthfully 0 to cajole absolutely everyone that he could be a franchise NFL QB. Alex Smith regarded midway regular final season, yet has taken steps returned this year. except he turns it on and leads the 9ers to a solid end he will in all probability be long gone, as his settlement is up. The Panthers did in basic terms draft 2 QBs final year, yet neither have regarded promising in any respect, and in case you think of you may get a franchise QB you may desire to take him. era. success has poise, decision making and accuracy that are uncommon between QB potentialities. His actual kit are tremendously regular, so he's far from a shoe-in for the #a million spot, yet while the team with the #a million standard p.c.. isn't one hundred% of the destiny of their QB spot he will in all probability be the p.c... And proficient QBs circulate interior the 1st around, each of the time. This year's draft classification isn't particularly on the point of 2004 in terms of the QB place, yet there are countless men that have an absurd quantity of potential. success and Ryan Mallet are bonafide ideal 5 high quality potentialities and Cam Newton is beginning off to tutor that he does have the potential to be a solid passer (regardless of the undeniable fact that an vast form of artwork is important to shine those skills). yet another guy that has a shot is Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert. he's great, athletic, has a cannon for an arm and has the production to returned all of it up.

Thet should really take Derrick Byars out of Vanderbuilt. He's being compared to Brandon Roy, 6'7 great defender(which the Wizards need) great ball handler, has three point range.Gotta draft the best player available, not pick based on need.

    Definitely Josh McRoberts!

He is smart and versatile power forward that can play Center. He's pretty athletic. He can handle the ball and pass it. He can score down low, which will take off some pressure off Agent Zero.

very hard choice. the wizards have gilbert in the back court and caron butler, antwn jamison, and bredan haywood in the front court. now am going to go with a backourt mate for agent 0, since the front court is pretty good already. i am going with a virtually unknown man called rodney stuckey, from the eastern wahington eagles. yes, i know his team is at .500, but check out his stats! he average 24.6 points, is 6-5, has 4.7 rebounds per game, and 5.5 assists. i would put him in that weak shooting guard area. with him, the wizards would be above average in every single position! expt center

    here is the lineup

PG: Gilbert arenas-donyell taylor- antonio daniels

    SG: rodney stuckey-deshawn steveson

    SF: caron butler-jarvis hayes

    PF:antawn jamison-andray blatche

C: etan thomas-bredan haywood(i like thomas over haywood)

the starting lineup is sick! i dont like the backups, though

I gotta say Javaris Crittenton. The Wizards rely upon Gilbert way too much....what happens if he goes down who will replace him....Daniels? No way! The Wizards could take JC and let him be an Agent Zero Apprentice. JC is just a freshmen with great stats...14pts 4reb 6ast and plays great defense. He is very quick and could one day maybe in his first season share the backcourt with Arenas.
