I will be doing a series of these questions over the next week for you to reply on every pick in the first round, starting with this one: the number one pick. Each day, a different team will be on the clock.

The player will be selected based on the number of votes, the best answer will given to the person who has the best explanation/reason for the pick.

Now it's your turn to select the next pick...

Here is a list of possible players going at this pick:

Tiago Splitter

Nick Fazekas

Ante Tomic

Nick Young

Marco Belinelli

Rudy Fernández

Gabe Pruitt

Javaris Crittenton

Alando Tucker

Rodney Stuckey

Nick Fazekas would be good. The Nets have absolutely no inside game, and are desperate for that big inside presence. Taking a guard at 17 would be foolish unless Jason Kidd is traded before the draft, which is unlikely. They need a big man who can get inside and score in the paint, which is something Fazekas can do.

I'm gonna go with Nick Young

Young is very very underrated because he plays in the West Coast and no one actually gets to see him play that much.

He's about 6'6-6'7 and 200 pounds...perfectly built to be an nba SF/SG. He is a very streaky shooter with an excellent mid range game.

I would prolly say he has the best mid range game from any player in this year's draft. Dude can take a dribble going to his left or right and pull up and knock down a J. He can also post you guys up and go for a fadeaway....which he knocks down reguarly.

If he moves more often without the ball he could be a player like Richard Hamilton, where he could curl off screens and knock down 12-15 footers with or without taking a dribble.

He is a strong finisher in fastbreak opportunities. He just an average passer nothing spectacular about it.

His defense is pretty good. He can body guys up and play physical and can play on the ball defense.

He wouldn't be a bad 6th man for the nets if they choose to keep Carter and he wouldn't be a bad starter either at the SG spot starting besides Jefferson and Kidd.

He tends to lose his focus quite a bit but there's no question about his attitude and his determination to play winning basketball.

So here's what the lineup would look like

    C Kristic

PF Moore (or a free agent they might pick up because moore is not a PF...or they could use Josh Boone here)

    SF Jefferson

    SG Carter/ Young

    PG Kidd

I say you either go with Fazekas or Tucker. Fazekas put in a great performance at the end of the season and isn't afraid to step it up when it matters. The Nets are sorely lacking when it comes to PF/C and he'll be of great help there. Kidd can't continue to lead the team in rebounding if they want to compete at and elite level in the Eastern Conference. I think Fazekas plays with heart and would be a good fit. I also like Gray and Tucker, but Fazekas seems right for the Nets. This would be a great question on RootZoo.com, I'm sure everyone there would appreciate it...plus you can go back and forth after they reply.

Saer Sene & Paul Davis considering the fact it fairly is the place they desire the main help. 2 great adult males are extra appropriate then one inspect Tim Duncan & D Robinson and extra resently Diop & Dampier 2 widely used centers getting the job achieved interior the Finals. (Oleskly Pecherov could be a marvelous %. too, yet he won't be there that previous due)

again, i am going to go with rodney stuckney . this man has good ballhandling, great scoring, is 6-5, and is virtuall y unknown. he could play as a sixth man if carter stays this offseason, b/c there have been MANY rumors he will leave new jersey. if carter leaves, he will definetly play as a starter. If i were GM i would pick stuckney b/c he could easily take over vince carter's spot.

the old GM's saying: better to be safe than sorry

too high to pick tucker of fazekas. both of those guys are projected to be in the 2nd round. NJ needs a bigman especially if krstic is out so the go with the best available, Tiago Splitter

Alando Tucker ,especially if they are going to trade jefferson he can start right away and make an impact
