Does anyone here also have ADHD potentiated from head injuries?

I am currently on Adderall XR 20 mg 3 times a day for ADHD potentiated by multiple head injuries. My wife( I'm a widower now) and family- coworkers are thrilled with this quiet calmness I however feel like someone locked on the brakes. My question is " If you really have ADHD why do you get so irritable/ hyper when you don't take your meds ( Adderall also lowers my Blood Pressure and heartrate), I don't understand why it works so differently on me"

Is it normal for adults with ADHD to get irritable when people don't answer them quick enough and to feel like someone is holding they're shirt collar when they take they're meds?

Update:

Ummm, the Adderall gets rid of the irritability, without I get pissed very easy- I stay reallllly irritable to the point I have gotten into trouble alot for it.

I have ADHD and I do this ALL THE TIME. I can't stand it when people give long (to me) answers to my questions. I get it. My brain works fast, don't bore me or confuse me with the elaborate details! I get in fights with my wife over this all the time.

I'm not real sure I did'nt have ADHD before I got the head injury. Maybe, I'm thinking, it was exacerbated by the head injury. That injury occurred in 1988 and I am just now finally doing something about it. I know for sure I had alot of irritability. Now I guess I'm finally doing something about it because I don't want to lose any more jobs for lack of concentration, irritability, etc. I'm starting(two weeks into) strattera. I understand it's pretty crucial to take meds.
