Tough decision for birthday:Macbook, Phone,360, or Car?

ight heres the situation; im turning 16 in a few days, and i'm having a party, and i should get anywhere from $600-$1000(it's a small family party). I have some choices:

1. get a new phone. it would cost near $100 w/ new contract and i really don't like my current phone.

2. get a macbook. i want a black one w/ 160GB but i'd have to save up like $500 more to buy it(i have a job though)

3. save up for a car. i am going to get my dad's 2002 nissan sentra, but i could sell it for around $10,000 and save up the rest to get a 2006 Mustang(which i'm obsessed with)

4.or get an xbox360 and save the rest. my friends all have it and i only have ps2. this would mean buying new games too.

please help! any suggestions would be appreciated!

Please Do read ALL of this.

Option number one: buy a new phone. Now....What phone would you be buying that costs 100 dollars WITH a contract? Evaluate that decision: Do you really need that nice a phone?

Option number two:Get a Macbook. STOP!!! Think about this decision. Do you need a laptop? Or could you get by using your parents computer for a few years? Secondly, why a Macbook? Buy a Comparable Dell, Toshiba, or Gateway. Trust me, Macs are no better than other computers. If you must, buy the Apple operating system and install it. That should give you comparable virus protection (it's all in the software)

Option number three:Save for a Mustang. NOOOOO, do NOT get a mustang. First, you, being a city kid, would probably get an automatic, which is a very stupid idea, and second, you do NOT need a mustang, you'd end up depleting your bank account buying gas, or your dad's if he buys, and you don't need that much power. Stick with your Dad's Sentra. Nissans are reliable cars with decent power and good interiors, the Sentra being a good one even though it's a bottom-line Nissan.

And finally, option number four: Buying a 360. Dude, you've got a PS2, right? You've got it good. I've got a simple Gamecube and I get by just fine. I don't feel the need to go out and spend 400 dollars on a game system I don't need, and then spend 60 bucks a game, when I really don't need to. You shouldn't feel the need to either.

In conclusion, I'd vote you sell the Sentra, save up and get a brand new Maxima. It'll be cheaper than a Mustang with a V8 and it'd save you a lot of money in the long run, and with the power to weight ratio, you've got just as much power for less money. Besides, I've got the means to buy and old Viper R/T10, but that doesn't mean I'd ever waste 35,000 dollars on a car that gets horrible gas mileage (then again I am gonna be driving an old Caddy, which won't get much better :) )

P.S. One big difference between a Mustang and a Nissan is that you'll find more American parts in the Nissan (It truly is Sad But True (HEHE, reference to a Metallica song) American cars have more foreign parts than the foreign cars do. It saddens me to know this. Although, the more expensive American cars have mostly American parts (Like the Dodge Viper, Ford GT, all the models of Corvette, most Caddilacs, and of course most larger American trucks carry mostly American parts)

phone - you want it because it's a toy. not because you need it. i also want a phone right now and would even pay retail price but its just not worth it because we get tired of toys after 1-2 months.

mac - this is a good investment if you want to do something with computers in life and you can learn on it. if it's for games then you will waste your life away. i have a family friend who's on the computer 15 hours a day..literally, sadly his parents havent done anything about it yet. he's flunking school, too.

car - you already have it. you said you're getting your dads. 2002 is not old. don't sell it just to get a ford! import cars run a lot better. what you could consider doing is selling it and leasing a civic for 48 months. you can use the money you have to make lease payments. selling a decent car to get a new car is not the wisest decision just because you want to roll around in something you think looks good.

xbox - it's a toy and like you said...you'll need to waste money on games. then you will beat them or they will get old and you'll need to get new ones. all meanwhile, not learning anything good for life.

can your computer do what you normally need it to do? can your cell phone? stats show many new drivers get in accidents...do you really want to repair your mustang? do you think an xbox is good for anything but temporary satisfaction?..what about when you're satisfied?

if you dont already have a laptop, i would but the macbook. it makes the most sense... if you do, get the phone. these are things that you're more likely to NEED. if you're already getting ur dads car, dont buy a new one. its not too smart to buy a luxury car for ur first... you're very likely to get in an accident as you're still learning how to drive and getting the hang of it. the xbox- you really dont need it, since you have the ps2, and you would be spending a lot of money, since u have to buy new games... hope i helped!

You should go for the Ford Mustang. The Nissan Sentra sucks!

ok buy the xbox 3650 and the new phone. then use whuts left over to save for a macbook. notebooks and pcs help ppl with thier jobs and stay organized which can overall help you save up for a new car. thus if you are patent you have all the things you want. problem solved. plus the mustang might drop in price in time.

    phone or computer..

If your phone doesnt work then.. obviously, get a new one

a computer would be good cause you could use it when you go off to college

why get rid of a perfectly good car?

why do something cuase all your friends are doing it? (i know, cliche, right?)
