Can you get HD in analog or do you need digital for it to work properly?
Because sometimes they say a show in in HD on analog, but would we need digital to view it in HD?

In it's native format, HD is digital. HD can be converted to analog in the case that you want to watch HD through component video.
If you are talking about cable or satellite service, you need to subscribe to digital package and get a digital receiver. You cannot get HD through the standard or basic analog packages. You need a receiver to decode the encryption and deliver surround sound. Analog service is just stereo.
