NO. Imagine if China is likely to go to war against us it should have happen in the early 1960's when they can easily sweep half of Asia in a matter of days. China can land and engage the Filipinos in land battle in a matter of hours and can reach the capital in a matter of 2 to 3 hours flat. That would cost 200,000 dead Filipino soldiers and just 5,000 Chinese soldiers dead. That was in 1960's how much more today when China have sophisticated arsenal for the past 35 to 50 years. We do not stand a chance. The Chinese soldiers have 2-5 million foot soldiers compared to Filipino soldiers in the entire Philippines which only consisting of 200,000 to 350,000. Just do the figure or the math. And imagine the consequence. But now, engaging in war over the Philippines, what do you think the Chinese will gain out of it? You didn't ask yourself? The Chinese are not that stupid or dumb to waste their precious progress just to invade and engage the Philippines for a mere small islands in the western side of the Philippines on a war footing. In my own assessment, the Chinese are more wiser compared to the Filipinos. And looking at the record of China today that is already a living proof how they are progressive compared to us. That is why the Philippines is doing its best in finding a reasonable solution to the problem at hand especially the Spratley's island within the Philippines territory and not to end up to war. Besides the Philippines has no means or capability to engage anyone in the Asian region to go to war. War cost money which of this time the government have little of and human lives both of which is very important in every Filipino lives in the Philippines today.
