Is running the best form of excercise to lose weight? What has worked well for you?

I use a cross trainer (50 mins x 4 times a week) & it doesnt seem to be working as well as i had hoped.

    Hi,

    Running is a great way to lose weight, but not the only way. I have just recently lost 34 lbs. I am down from 191 to 157. I have done it through a combination of diet, aerobics, walking, jogging, and strength training. You have to keep your body guessing. If it gets too accustomed to what you are doing, it will slow down and stall what you are trying to accomplish. I found a really great website this week that you may find helpful. It is call Anne Collins.com. Go to this site and see if it is something that may help you. Also, the Glycemic Index diet is a really good diet to help you shed pounds. It is a very healthy way to diet. I will be glad to offer more help if you want me to. Good luck in you weight loss.

    Run and bike. The cross trainer is ok but getting out and running is going to move a lot more parts. Don't worry about how many miles, just keep track of mins. Use the bike on days you want to take it easy or use the cross trainer for that. Also eating healthy is the key to all of this. Pills and special plans won't work, you have to change your life from the ground up.

    Running is a good form of exercise and one of many ways to lose weight, but if running doesn't suit you best then, swimming is also one of the best ways to exercise because you use all of your muscles and you work on every part pf your body. I run and swim and i find swimming more helpful. Hope this helped you out.

    Running and swimming are really good, I am not sure what you mean by a cross trainer...but any cardio will help burn fat and lose weight. You also have to eat right. Good luck.

    i'm not quite sure what that cross trainer but eliptical machines work well as long as you do it often and eat right

    my friend walked 3 miles every morning in the summer and ate smaller portions and lost 30-35lbs can't remember now...

    don't know if running is the best but it definately works

    u can use detox diets to loose weight .The detox diet focuses on getting rid of the harmful aspects of our everyday diet.detox diets will help u to a great extent to reduce weight and be slim.Instead of eating 2 - 3

    meals per day, try eating 4 - 5 small meals per day, or 3 meals and 2 healthy snack meals.

    Food substitutions can help tremendously when trying to reduce calories and speed up the metabolism.

    Start running or walking around your neighborhood at least 30 minutes a day. Cardio also helps to burn fat quickly. Drink water everyday, about half of your body weight. (120lbs.= 60oz.) Eat right, and don't eat 3 hours before you go to bed. <3

    Ignor the answer regarding clense.. My doctor says not safe: ask your doctor or see a dietition before any weight loss program

    i'm not shure if runing is the best way to lose weight. But i think walking is the best way to do it. because theirs no strain on your knees. plus it is so much easyer to do you just walk a couple miles every day.

    well a goood way to lose weight swimmin is pretty much the way to burn calories so if u have a water park or somethin near your house swim there.
