What happened to Federalism?

In days gone by the governmental power in the United States was divided between the States and the Federal government. But today the Federal government has grown to a point that it completly domniates the country as a whole. Today there is almost no difference from one state to another, and state governments have been reduced to little more than administrative divisions. What's the point of states anymore... given that there is practically no state soverigenty any longer, wouldn't it be more efficient to replace elected state government with appointed administrators from Washington? And isn't it about time we changed the name United States of America? That would imply that there is any autonomy of states... how about Americaland? Or how about the People's Republic of North America? What do you think?

You are correct in your comments. The doctrines of Federalism have been subverted and replaced with heavy handed central government. The voices of liberty have been drowned out by the loudspeakers of empire. What we need is deevolution of the central government and the reassertion of state authority. If that takes the form of dissolution and the formation of autonomous regions, then so much the better. When a nation based upon liberty finds itself being dictated to by an oppressive centralized authority, then tyranny has already gained the upper hand. Resistance is not futile. Assert states' rights to govern themselves without federal tyranny. Deevolve the nation now.

The concept of LIMITED Government as envisioned by our wise Founding Fathers has been lost.

    Why?

Those early framers of our Constitution knew and understood human nature better than any other group in the history of planet earth.

They were moral and ethical enough to resist the temptation to make THEMSELVES Royalty.

They gave the citizens the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their own labor instead of taking ownership of everything and keeping it all for themselves.

Today's politicians must HATE the limits set forth in the Constitution. The elitist lawyers in the courts have now stripped away our property rights.

Lets go back to the CONSTITUTION and get some teachers in our schools that aren't LIBERALS!
