If you see a piece of art in a gallery/publication do you assume it must be good or at least must have merit?

    no, must be that gallery owner likes it, or owes the artist a favor.

    Absolutely NOT ~~~~

    Art is in the eye of the beholder. You don't have to like or think every piece of ART is a great work. Somewhere someone does think a particular piece is and that is why it is in a gallery. And believe me there are PLENTY of pieces of art in plenty of galleries. Something for everyone !

    Matter of opinion. I have seen some art that I absolutely hate, and some that is totally great...........it depends on your taste
