If you ever won a case by trial due to traffic violation in Oregon's Marion county or City of Salem?
I have lived in Oregon for a long time. I have never seen any case which was thrown out off the Traffic court by Marion county or City of Salem Judges unless you were presented by a lawyer. I drive lots of people to the court and I wait and listen to the cases. Judges don't even listen to what the defendents have to say....they just look away and after the testimony gets done...they go..."GUILTY!" Some time I even feel like to that the county or city's court system doesn't really care how & if the PD is in violation of basic human rights.
Please share your story/opinion/experience ......I have lost respect for these judges!
Please be respectfull when you answering! I may push this info out to big news media.
Thanks a bunch...
I have seen a Beaverton Judges to be more cooperative towards the defendant! May be due to the more city revenue....Thanx to Nike , IBM...PIA...so n...But you can always have a story for us...Plz share!!

That's funny. I'm from Oregon as well and I am not surprised by your observations. We represented one person in Marion County and they even had an attorney but the police officer showed up to court so they ultimately found our client guilty. My view of traffic tickets is that they are just a road tax. You can't win unless the officer doesn't show up. And if he does show, you might as well save your breath, because a judge will find them guilty every time. And please do put this out into the media. There is lots of this going on all over Oregon and I'm sure the rest of America as well. If we give the judges some media pressure maybe they will feel an obligation to be more fair to the public instead of feeding their salaries with the traffic taxes.

You are correct, judges don't even listen to anyone without a lawyer. I have been on both side of the fence. Twentyseven years of law enforcement and I never lost a case to someone without a lawyer, and I hate lawyers. After retiring I went to court on a careless driving citation, a Curry County judge didn't give me the opporutnity to present evidence, call witnesses, cross examine the trooper, or pay any attention to what I had to say. Guess I should have known better than to trust the system to be fair.
