why are owls wise?
two questions really. why are owls wise when they sleep all day, they miss the shops being open. second why is it that dogs urinate strategically in order to navigate where they are if they get lost when they could just make it easier for themselves and buy sat nav.

Because Owls ask questions... like Who? Who?
and Dogs do not urinate to mark their trail... they do it to mark their territory: claiming it as their own.

Owls are said to be wise because in ancient Greece they were associated with the Goddess of Wisdom known as Athena.
She was represented as the bearer of all hidden knowledge which was associated with night and the moon. Since owls are nocturnal, they were sacred to this particular mythology.
As to the dog pee thing, I have heard that they like to mark their territory by putting down a scent. Hence, the strategic peeing.

In Greek mythology, the owl, and specifically the Little Owl, was often associated with the goddess Athena, a bird goddess who became associated with wisdom, the arts, and skills, and as a result, owls also became associated with wisdom. They are the unofficial mascot of the high-IQ society Mensa.
Because their sense of smell allows them to detect the pheromones better than their paws allow them to navigate the buttons of the sat nav.

Depends on what the observer considers wisdom my friend.
Owls are wise to the ways of thier world....
But to ours? I think not.
I think owls do not trouble themselves with the wisdom of technology such as e-mail and cell phones.
Also dog's don't urinate to navigate although I am starting to think you are a poet.
Dogs unrinate to mark thier 'territory'. Even if it's the neighbors lawn.

Owls are wise enough not to get involved with YA debates, and if dogs had GPS devices, they'd have no place to mount them except on top of their heads, so they wouldn't help much
