should barry make the all-star team...

    yes

    will he?

    of course

    1. the game in in san francisco. though la russa only gets i believe 3 or 4 spots to fill, he should only have 1 or 2 obligatory votes in the nationals and pirates (assuming snell/bay arent voted in by the players. Griffey takes care of the reds spot so I don't see another team without a player on the NL roster. What's the only other team without a sure-thing all-star? oh yeah, that'd be the giants.

    2. he's got a great chance at the 31st man vote (or maybe its 30th i dont remember). i would imagine giants fans would be all over that vote if he gets snubbed.

    3. the players will vote him in. remember, Barry is getting on base 49.1% of the time. The game has never seen a player like this. He gets out only half of his at bats. think about that.

oh yeah its because he gets intentionally walked. but why is that? because players RESPECT him.

if Bonds doesnt get voted in by the players, he still has a teriffic chance to land a spot. and rightfully so.

So why does Soriano deserve the spot... He hasn't accomplished plenty this year. anybody is so harsh on Bonds yet I easily have reported it until now and that i visit declare it lower back... If he would not have that a million year the place he hit seventy 3 domicile runs and stored hitting his 40-50 could every person be crying concerning to the steroids.... additionally check out it this manner... Steroids can purely upload slightly distance actual... He nevertheless desires to hit the ball. Take his domicile runs away that slightly cleared the fence that year... He nevertheless probable hits approximately 50-60... If he replaced into an surprising sociable guy i don't think of there could be any problems... Why would not every person communicate approximately David Ortiz.. Or did no person here him say he might have taken steroids, yet he would not comprehend reason it replaced right into a "protein drink" or some crap... purely get off Bonds, he's probable in his very final year.. permit him relish it slightly.

Bonds is having a decent year, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him left off of the all-star team. I would personally put him behind the following:

    J. Bay

    C. Beltran

    E. Byrnes (having a great year)

    K. Griffey JR

    M. Holliday

    A. Jones

    C. Lee

    A. Rowand

    A. Soriano

    S. Victorino

    J. Willingham

And most of these players are a LOT more popular with the fans than Bonds. So I doubt we'll see him in the all-star lineup.

No way in hell should Bonds be on the All Star team. He is having a mediocre year amongst all of the other NL potential OF All Stars. He is hitting .286 with 13 HRs and 30 RBIs including a very sub-par .265 with 2 HRs and 7 RBIs over the last month. Let's not give him the nod just because of his name. Let's do it for his body of work THIS year.

Yes, and he should also be in the hall of fame. Bonds never cheated because steroids were "legal" (not banned yet) in baseball when he allegedly took them. If he gets voted in by the fans, then he should start in the outfield. I would also love to see him in the home run derby. Bonds is an all around nice guy and has total respect for the game. He deserves some respect from the fans. 700+ hrs & 500+ steals career.

No...and here is why. The game is hosted in an NL park. No DH=more pitchers, less positional players. With that said, lets say the the NL carries 6 of 7 OF's? Here are at least that many players with better or equal seasons at the plate without the defensive liability:

    Carlos Lee HOU

    Matt Holiday COL

    Alphonso Soriano CHC

    Carlos Beltran NYM

    Jason Bay PIT

    Ken Griffey Jr CIN

    Adam Dunn CIN

    Eric Byrnes ARZ

    Aaron Rowand PHI

    Brad Hawpe COL

I am sure that there are at least 10 outfielders in the National League having better seasons than Barry Bonds so I say no. I also think that they should take the voting away from the fans who only turn it into a popularity contest instead of putting those players in that actually deserve to be there

  • 1 decade ago

I don't really think he should but since it is a popularity contest he probably will. But if it was based on stats Matt Holliday, Carlos Lee, Adam Dunn, Eric Byrnes, Shane Victorino, Alphonso Soriano and Jason Bay all rank higher then Bonds in yahoo fantasy sports. They all qualify or play in left field also. So again no I don't think Bonds should make it (and I am a fan of him) but i'm sure he will. It is in San Fran.

if enough fans voted Barry to make the All-Star then he will be in...if not then no. all-star voting is more so of popular voting of the players..this time of the year, because of ongoing investigation and suspicion of Barry and illegal enhancing substance, he is not very popular by any means...so its going to be difficult and debate able for Barry to make the All-Star or not.

I would hope he doesn't. I've said this time and time again, but I don't respect cheaters. Play fair, or don't play at all! This applies to everybody. But, I'm not the only person voting, remember? There are plenty of Bonds fans. That will vote for him hundreds of times. So Bonds will end up at the All-Star game, one way or another. Even if people don't want him there.

Things don't always go the way we want them to.

    Yankees Love. <3
