  • Who will be the lone Royals representative in the All Star game this year?

Let's face it... the Royals aren't going to send more than one player to the All Star game this season. So who will it be?

Greinke again who is pitching well, and is finally starting to notch a few wins

Guillen, who has been arguably the best hitter on the team this year

Billy Butler, who is having a great offensive year at 1B

DeJesus, who is having a solid offensive year, and is playing great defensively

Maybe Podsednik, who again, is having a solid offensive year

Or perhaps Soria, who is having a very good year so far at closer.

What is your prediction for the Royals All Star game representative?

  • How many different countries can you name players from?

You must name a country, and then a CURRENT MLB player from that country. Let's see how many different countries people can come up with.

  • Name 5 "overrated" well-known players, who would be no-namers if they played for the Royals?

For example, Joba Chamberlain. Would anyone even know his name if he played in KC?

  • Who is the most underpaid player in the MLB?

Billy Butler just signed a deal with the Royals for a whopping $470,000.

Butler was the Royals Player of the Year in 2009, leading the club with a .301 average, 93 RBIs and 51 doubles. He also hit 21 home runs, one triple and 51 doubles for 73 extra-base hits, sixth-most in the American League.

Is there anyone who is more underpaid than Butler?

  • As far as problems go for the Royals organization, where do you think this ranks?

This is the Royals major injury report data from 2002 to 2009, or the last 8 seasons. Where does this rank on the list of problems for the Royals?

"Josh Hermsmeyer at RotoBlog.com just released a data set of all injuries from 2002 to 2009. I decided to go ahead and jump on the opportunity and look at the Royal teams and the top 30 players that cost the organization the most money for time on the DL.

Here is the list of which teams ranked from year to year:

Rank Year Salary Lost Total Day on DL Trips to DL Total Payroll % of Total Payroll

    1 2007 $19,211,214 1644 19 $67,116,500 29%

    2 2009 $15,103,488 888 13 $70,519,333 21%

    3 2006 $11,833,014 953 14 $47,294,000 25%

    4 2004 $10,682,789 1490 20 $47,609,000 22%

    5 2003 $5,880,161 524 11 $40,518,000 15%

    6 2008 $5,449,647 649 10 $58,245,500 9%

    8 2005 $4,550,350 481 5 $36,881,000 12%

Now time for the players, no real surprise at who is #1 (he came in 26th in all the league):

  • What has more action, the average baseball or football game?

According to this article, I would have to say Baseball. I think that there would be more than 11 minutes of action in a typical baseball game.

  • A hard question for you statistics guru's...?

What is the most number of curveballs thrown in a single AB, during the 7th inning or later of a game that is played on a Tuesday, in an outdoor stadium, with a lefty pitcher on the mound and a right-handed batter in the box, a runner on 2nd base, a rookie 3rd baseman on the field, during a tie ball game?

  • With all this McGwire talk... will Pujols hit number 400 this year?

Right now he's at #69 on the all time list with 366 home runs. He's hit less than 34 homers only once in his career (in 2007 he hit 32). So do you think we'll see #400 this year from Pujols?

  • Where does this rank... as one of the worst trades in MLB history?

    During the 1994 strike:

"Minnesota traded Dave Winfield to the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later before the season was officially canceled, so no player was named. To settle the deal, the executives of the teams went to dinner, and Cleveland picked up the tab, meaning Winfield had been dealt for dinner."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994%E2%80%9395_Major...

I know that he retired in 1995, so it's not like he had a lot left in him, but come-on... a HOF player traded for dinner?

  • Can you still consider Jeter, Posada, and Rivera "homegrown" talent?

I don't think that you can. I think that the title "homegrown" can only apply to the first contract that a player gets from his team. After that first contract expires, you have to purchase that player just like you do any other free agent.

Here's another question. If Jeter, Posada, and Rivera all came up in different organizations, would their teams have been able to afford to keep them their entire career like the Yankees have? I don't think so.

  • If the Yankees manage to lose this World Series, how much money will they throw around this offseason?

Last year they didn't make the playoffs and spent an enormous amount of money signing players. If they lose this World Series, will they spend more or less than they did last offseason?

  • Who will finish with the better record, Royals or Mets?

Right now the Mets are 65-87 with 10 more games to play

the Royals are at 63-88 with 11 more games to play.

Keep in mind that the Royals have won 12 of their last 15 against the likes of Detroit, Boston, Cleveland, and Chicago.

The Mets have 4 wins in their last 15.

So who finishes with the better record?

  • What's the most boring thing to watch in sports?

I hear a lot of people stating that baseball is boring because it's a slower game. So my question is... what is the most boring thing to watch in any given sport??? Any sport whatsoever.

Whether it be watching a standard baseball game, or the 4th quarter of a football game where one team is up 35-7? Kneel down plays at the end of football games... the last 5 minutes of any basketball game, the fouls, the time outs, the freethrows... ugh (just freaking get on with it already), golf, bowling, nascar...

  • Greinke for the AL MVP?

Seriously, is anyone really more valuable to their team than Greinke has been to the Royals this year? Sure there is a case for Mauer or Morneau, but if you take either of them away from an average team in Minnesota, you still leave them with an average team. If you take Jeter or Teixeira away from the Yankees they would still be in first and wouldn't miss a beat.

The same argument can not be made for Greinke however... If you take him off of a bad team, you end up with the worst team in baseball. Seriously, where would the Royals be this year without Greinke? It might be a stretch for them to win 40 games without him. With him, they're 31 games below .500. Without him... they might be 50.

  • Are the Red $ox getting desperate?

The Red $ox are buying up everything in sight, trying to catch the Yankee$. Are they in desperation mode? Look at the moves they've made this year....

V-Mart, LaRoche/Kotchman, Byrd, Wagner... etc. Is Theo's finger on the panic button yet? Seems like they're turning into Yankee Jr. with the money they're starting to throw around.
