Name 5 "overrated" well-known players, who would be no-namers if they played for the Royals?

For example, Joba Chamberlain. Would anyone even know his name if he played in KC?

DEREK JETER. Not only would his numbers drop in KC (from 110 R per year to 90, from 14 HR per to 10, from 70 RBI to 60, likely with a drop in AVG as well), but his pretty blue eyes would never grace one television set in America. He'd be unknown to everyone but the diehards.

ANDY PETTITTE. Again, the numbers fall off the face of the earth. Not only would he never win 15 games (let alone AVERAGE 15 wins), but he'd also never sniff the playoffs. Or national t.v. (ERAs of 4+ and WHIPs of 1.40 don't tend to generate a lot of attention for the Royals.)

JOHNNY DAMON. David DeJewho? Welcome back to Kansas City, Johnny, where no one (comparatively) knew your name.

KEVIN YOUKLIS. A firstbaseman who hits 25 and 100? That's rare. Or... not. Not only do the RBIs drop when Manny and Big Papi and the Green Monster go away, but so does the national coverage. Welcome to the world of Mike Sweeney.

LASTINGS MILLEDGE. Yeah, all that hype never would've happened had you come oughta KC. Unless, of course, the Yankees or Mets or Sox or etc. were thinking about trading for you. (Or, just as well, some writer in NY wasn't writing about how the Yankees or Mets or etc. should make a push for you---on the cover of S.I.)

As chaos stated so many meet that bill. Decent player on big market teams get mega press. I remember the Met's i think in early 90's (expert stating they would have the greatest pitching staff).Corona gave a great list of Yankees and i agree his assessment what they be like in KC.

What about the reverse top players on bad teams get over hyped. Examples KC when they had Carlos Beltran Mets bought what they thought was greatestCenter fielderr since Mantle lol. Dye wow was he hyped. Kris Benson as aPiratese remember when he was touted top 5 NL Pitcher. Even now in KC Mr. G labeled top 5 in AL where tho track record to lay such a claim he could just aseasilyyregresss be a one year wonder as a dominate Ace for next 5 or 10 years.

I agree wholeheartedly with Joba - he was the first to come to mind. All Yankee$, almost by definition, are overexposed and overrated. It's always been that way.
