Who is the most underpaid player in the MLB?

Billy Butler just signed a deal with the Royals for a whopping $470,000.

Butler was the Royals Player of the Year in 2009, leading the club with a .301 average, 93 RBIs and 51 doubles. He also hit 21 home runs, one triple and 51 doubles for 73 extra-base hits, sixth-most in the American League.

Is there anyone who is more underpaid than Butler?

It depends on what your definition of underpaid. Are you talking about a player like Ryan Braun who signed a 8yr and 45mil contract and the hits .320/.386/.551? or are you talking about Andrew Bailey who was the rookie of the year last year with a 1.84era/.88WHiP and saved a 1/3 of their wins and only made 400k? and Braun made a little over a $1mil last season.

So for the Hitters i would say Ryan Braun is underpaid he made $1mil and he's a 2 time all-star, ROY, and in the top ten fastest to 100hrs.

Otherwise Tiny-Tim Linecum would be the most drastically underpaid from last year being a 2 time Cy young winner and made $650,00

commencing pitchers are vastly overpaid because of the fact that at suitable they seem in 40 video games and the main wortless signing in the history of valueless signings is Barry Zito. Underpaid is Jose Reyes and David Wright of the Mets who're locked up real inexpensive for the subsequent 3 years.

$470,000 for playing baseball for 6 months a year is not underpaid.

$30 million (Arod) $21 million (Jeter) $21 million (Texiera) is absolutely ridiculous.

Don't you think that salaries like that could wipe out the 10%+ unemployment rate in this country if that money was put to better use?

Basegball fans are suckers, we pay more for everything, including cable TV, tickets, baseball cards, autographs. When you make $20+ million don't you think they should sign an autograph for free? Or their bogus charities where they lend their names so WE can give OUR money. Don't cry for someone who makes nearly 10 times the average American salary. He is doing quite well.
