Where does this rank... as one of the worst trades in MLB history?

During the 1994 strike:

"Minnesota traded Dave Winfield to the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later before the season was officially canceled, so no player was named. To settle the deal, the executives of the teams went to dinner, and Cleveland picked up the tab, meaning Winfield had been dealt for dinner."

I know that he retired in 1995, so it's not like he had a lot left in him, but come-on... a HOF player traded for dinner?

LOL. I love Dave Winfield, but by that time he really wasn't worth much more than a good dinner as a ball player. Remember, Cleveland helped save $$$ for the Twins in that deal.

the two between the ultimate applicants for that honor have already been listed - Fregosi for Ryan and Broglio Brock. The commerce listed is largely a reaction - it extremely would not pass the try of time because of the fact the different 2 did. In those 2 bargains, you're conversing corridor of Famer for WHO? the lads the O's have been given ought to produce for a particularly good quantity of time previously it may ever be seen worst commerce in historic previous.

Unless the Tab was from McDonalds, I would say that that would be right up their with the player traded for the 10 Maple Bats.
