try emusic.com. You will get 50 free downloads with no catch. The per song price will be $.50 thereafter, or even less if you sign up for a larger package. They do a per month deal (like 40 songs per month for $19), so it is cheaper than i-Tunes if you take advantage of it. The other downside is they really don't have the song selection that Apple has.

Napstar and others will let you download a ton of music, but if you ever leave them, then you lose the songs. I don't care for those deals. (What if they go out of business?) I use Ares, but it is stealing if you get songs from others. The program works very well though (if I had ever used it, which I haven't.)

i-Tunes is expensive, but is probably the best option. Do not spend the $1.29 for their new "higher quality" option. The $.99 version is still expensive enough and sounds fine.

if you are willing to pay for it, there are a ton of places. the one that comes to mind is Itunes, otherwise, you can still use sites like limewire, just switch to limewire pro, which makes it legal, but it is still cheaper than most. :)

Why don't you download from Yahoo!Music?

Limewire, it is free but may give your computer a bad case of spyware. I used it for a month, and I was fine. But you never know.

Legally means you need to pay for them. Itunes or soundbuzz should be alright. :)
