Air conditioner problem?
My AC works fine during short trips. When on for more than an hour, the air temp gradually gets warmer until it only blows circulated air. When shut off for 15 min and put back on,it works fine and the same cycle repeats itself. The car is only 2 years old,15K mi. The dealer service dept says there's no problem with it. They changed the freeon just to apease us when we insisted a problem does exist. The air is clearly warm after periods of time. There is no leak.
Mist also comes through the vents when the air temp starts to diminish

You don't mention what type vehicle this is. But the next time it does this, pull over and see if the a/c compressor is still spinning. Also, you say that the air gets warm, but does it still blow the same volume of air? The point of these questions is to determine if the de-icing switch may have failed. The evaporator will freeze up, and the system may shut off the a/c compressor due to the evaporator being so cold. If this is the case, the amount of air at the vents should diminish noticeably. Something to check anyway, and please update with all info you can.

Sounds like a problem with the thermostat, or possibly one of the vacuum lines or vacuum motors is shutting down the air circulation from the A/C coil, and just recirculating the inside air. Without seeing the car I would lean towards the thermostat, or the pressure switch.
I just saw the "mist" addition to your question, it could also be restricted air flow causing the coil to freeze, which would cause a "mist" when thawing.

Sounds like the dryer has trash in it and its freezing up on the extended trips.
There is a problem. What you need is a good A/C Tech. Don't go to the dealerships. Go to a reputable auto shop. These guys will treat you right and fix the problem. Takes about half a day to clean the system change the part and recharge the system

First, i could hook up a gauge set, or have a technician do it,and consider the intense/low rigidity. Its conceivable the evap temp probe is out of calibration and the evaporator is freezing up. It blows chilly untill it freezes then blows heat till at last it thaws out. the click noise is probably no longer appropriate via fact the mode and temp controls are cable operated and the clean/recirc door is vacuum controlled. greater recent fashions have electric powered actuators that could reason the click noise. Your possibly listening to the a/c compressor click on.

Have the evaporator cleaned, the dryer replaced and the system evacuated and refilled with refrigerant
