Carter Habitat Construction = Built on a Dump + Contamination + Shoddy Construction?

Jimmy Carter's crew built a houses in 17 days as a Habitat for Humanity project in 2000.

The houses went to poor people. Now people realized that the houses are contaminated from a dump and have shoddy construction.

Are you surprised?

Update:

Is this typically what happens when a top Dem is involved with a project?

Update 2:

I had no idea that there were an outrageously high number of Dems who are out of touch with their leaders and heros.

I figured that Dems on YA would be up to speed (or know how to use the internet to get up to speed) on the doings / failures of the people they support --- Carter, Clinton, etc.

My bad. I had no idea this was more than I should expect from YA Dems.

Just google: carter habitat dump .... on Google News.

Maybe because reading the news articles shows that you are a liar. The homes were not built on a dump, and the inspections of the homes found no violations. While pockets of the land were used for a dump, the majority was not. And there has been no signs of any contamination. Many of the problems seem to be due to maintenance issues and water runoff. If you don't want to be called a liar in the future, stick to telling the truth.

I sure like to know more about that project.

I have work on Habitat for Humanity projects and never heard that one before.

The person who gets the house has to work on it themselves too.

I am conservative and not a Jimmy Carter fan but you sound a bit over the edge for me.

So give me the link please.

That's a totally irresponsible accusation. I personally think Jimmy Carter was a terrible president and I would never vote for someone like him, but your statement is ridiculous. How would he know if he was helping to build a house and the area turned out to have a bad history?

What good are you doing for anyone? What charity work have you done? What are those 'family value' god-fearing church-on-Sunday Republicans doing for those less fortunate? Nothing is what they're doing, other than finding ways to rip off the poor even more.

    You're a complete a s s hole. I'll take my negative 10 points, its worth it.

Unsubstantiated rumors need to be sent to Snopes for validation before we can answer this one.

If you are sincere in your beliefs, put it to the Mikkelsons. They seem to be pretty unbiased people. They're Brits I think.
