Should I buy a 2002 Buick Century for $6000?

I'm shopping for a reliable used car and have found a 2002 Buick Century with 125,000 miles for $6000. The dealer offers an extended warranty of 100,000 miles/ 5 years beyond the mileage at the time of purchase (included in this price). Is this a good deal?

I work at a Buick dealer, the price isnt bad but may be a touch high,I am not a fan of extended warrantys,on high mileage cars they are limited and usually a rip off,but if you are financing look for a newer vehicle with lower miles and GM certified, this already has a warranty and will give you a better intrest rate.

I`m pretty sure u can get a better deal. in facted before getting the car . go to www.msn.com, and click on auto, select the year and make of the vehicle. and it will tell u about if u are getting a good car or not . better yet whiles u r in that section, go to reviews , and u can find out from REAL peoples experience with the 02 Buick century. Now i have not had a century, but two years ago i brought a `96 Buick LeSabre`, very nice car in good condition, but it was a Lemon. Had it for two months and finally donated it. I have heard people say if u buy a Buick pre-owned, it should be no more than an year old, with not many miles. Buick are nice but i will never again buy it used. if i got another Buick it would be a new Lucerne or the Enclave. best of luck to u.

I guess I'm partial to Buicks. I own a 1963 Wildcat 4 Dr. Hardtop, and am in the process of restoring it. There are Buicks out there that sell for a lot more than that and are a lot older. Buicks are great cars. So far with the engine (401 Nailhead w/325 hp) all I've had to do is oil changes, and replace the valve cover gaskets. It still runs strong(93 mph on the highway). I'm not sure about that warranty though. Might want to recheck that. But $6k for it? Nice....

You must have something confused....no dealer I know would offer a 5 year or 100 K mile warranty on a vehicle that already has 125K miles on it. Buick Century's are good vehicles...I think its a good buy. I had a 1985 Buick Century (back in 1994) and it had 190 K miles. I drove it for a year and didnt have ANY problems and actually sold it for the amount I bought it for a year earlier.

Go to Edmund's.com and find out the value of a Buick Century. Plus the offer a wealth of other auto buying information. Personally I would shop around and compare prices. Many car dealership have demo cars that they stop using at low miles, then sell for next to nothing, check them out too, please be sure to get the extended vehicle warranty, it will save you tons of money in the long run. Best Wishes!
