I will be doing a series of these questions over the next week for you to reply on every pick in the first round, starting with this one: the number one pick. Each day, a different team will be on the clock.

The player will be selected based on the number of votes, the best answer will given to the person who has the best explanation/reason for the pick.

Now it's your turn to select the next pick...

Here is a list of possible players going at this pick:

Arron Afflalo

Gabe Pruitt

Aaron Brooks

Jared Dudley

Aaron Gray

Kyle Visser

Marc Gasol

Sean Williams

Daequan Cook

Marcus Williams

Taurean Green

Petteri Koponen

    Petteri Koponen

He probably has the best chance at being drafted here....just because it's the Spurs picking. For the last few years, they have been in love with international players...just look at their draft history -- Mahinimi, Udrih, Barbosa, Parker... I know next to nothing about Koponen, but he has been doing very well in workouts. Other than Koponen, there is no other international player really worth the pick here. Marc Gasol, in my opinion, is a second rounder for sure. So, based on the logic that the Spurs will pick another international player like they almost always do the last few years, they take Koponen, the highest rated international player remaining. =]

He would help with the PG depth issues as he's supposed to be one of those pass first PGs.

a good pick here would be Taurean Green. Coaches and scouts really liked the way he played at the orlando camp and coach pop even said he was really impressed with green underacheiving skills. He gets lost in the blur with the other gator players but without him they would not have been as successfull without their point guard finding the players in the right spots. Hes a smart tough point guard with championship experience and will back up parker nicley since udrich has fallen out of favor with popovich. Green loves big game situations which is something the spurs always manage to get to. He preffers to slow down tempos so he would make a nice fit with the spurs half court offense.

with finley about to retire any season now, they need a SF. dudley is a great pick for them. he has lots of potential and has all the intangibles and leadership skills that most players dont have. he is a passionate guy and would fit well with pop. arron afflalo is overrated and he isnt even a very good shooter, which is what he is supposed to be best at. look when ucla played florida, he sucked horrible and that was against a college team. can you imagine how bad he would be in the nba?

The buzz is for Petteri Koponen from Finland. They want a big point guard so they can trade Udrih.

I'd probably go for Daequan Cook or Jared Dudley here though.

Because Tim Duncan is their only true threat down low, i would pick Aaron Gray to take some of the load off Duncan's shoulders.

I would take Arron Afflalo because he has proven he could be a leader and scorer on a very good UCLA team the last 2 years
