it can be if they have been irregular from the start then there is nothing to worry about, but if they were regular and just started skipping around then you should go see a doctor.

Irregular menstrual cycles are very normal at the extremes of the lifetime ovulation cycles (i.e., when first getting your period and when going through menopause) Any other time, it is abnormal. THe most common cause is pregnancy. Stress and recent/excessive travel have also been clinically proven to cause loss of periods (amenorreah) One must also consider low body weights that lead to annovulation. More commonly in the States is annovulation secondary to high body fat. Adipocytes (fat cells) have a type of aromatase that converts androgens into estrones. These hormones keep estrogen levels chronically high, which in turn keeps follicle stimulating hormone levels high, the ovaries are chronically stimulated with no peak in LH= no egg dropping from the ovary.

Long way of saying there are lots of reasons why you may not be having a period-- only your doctor can tell you what is your personal problem-- go see your Ob-Gyn/Family doc!

their could be a couple of reasons why you skipped a cycle

1)you are pregnant (which is the worst case scenario)

    2) you maybe exercised a little to much this past month

3)you maybe stressing out and that could cause you to skip

    4) maybe you have irregular periods already

    5) an excessive gain or weight loss can cause you to skip your period too

its not normal to miss the menstrual cycle so the best thing for you to do is to go and visit your doctor only he or she can diagnose what your feeling and why your period is missing?

    good luck!!!!
