Video on a picture camera?

I just bought a Digimax S700, with a 512 card

When I put it on video mode, the camera tells me I have 7 minutes to record, but today I recorded almost 20 minutes, and the camera says I still have 4 minutes, How could I really know how much record capabilty do I have?

    Keep recording until it tells you to stop. :D

    Were there pics on the card when it said you had 7 minutes?
