Who thinks Grady Sizemore is the most overrated player in the MLB?

Let's look at his stats

.291 (and even though he's been on fire lately, he still can't hit .300)

11 HR (well he's on track for 25! 11 was good about a month ago)

33 RBI (only looking to get 3/4 of 100, I don't find that too impressive)

Fianlly something good

22 SB (well if he's so fast, why can't he hit a good average?)

60 Runs (well if he gets on base, he automatically scores, he playes for Cleveland)

Update:

Star if you think he's overrated!

Update 2:

Hey LS

Leadoff hitters over .300

Reggie Willits- LAA (.337)

Christian Guzman-WAS (.327)

Jose Reyes-NYM (.319)

Luis Castillo-MIN (.306)

Corey Hart-MIL (.306)

So Taguchi-STL (.310)

Willy Taceras-COL (.316)

Ichiro Suzuki-SEA (.358)

Brian Roberts-BAL (.305)

Is that enough for ya?

Maybe it was just you who couldn't name any lead off hitters over .300

Update 3:

LS, I named about 10 batter over .300, and I got plenty more batting over .290, so if you want them, just ask.

I'd say there's a fair number of teams that would take him as a CF. Overrated? Definitely not.

Who's better? I can think of only four others who could mentioned along with him - and I'll take Sizemore over Andruw Jones, Vernon Wells, Torii Hunter or Ichiro, and I'm a big Ichiro fan.

Among CFs, only Juan Pierre has more stolen bases (one more as of today) only Ichiro has a higher OBA (Willits has played only 5 games in CF, with a BA of .200, and OBA of ,294 and a SLG oF .267), only Hunter has more homers (14 to 11) and only Swisher has drawn more walks (49-43).

Sizemore also has more homers than Taveras does extra base hits.

If he's overrated, I'd say most, if not all of the players (other than Reyes) you listed fall in the category also, along with 29 other CFs.

Grady is a leadoff hitter. So, expecting 100 RBIs is a bit of a reach.

There are far more overrated players:

Dunn, and every other Dunn clone whiffs 1/3 of their ABs

Every starter who cant get past the 6th

Every "ace" who can't pitch into the 8th

He is a tad overrated, everyone jumped on the Sizemore bandwagon last year because he was good and young and then everyone expected him to dominate, he is still a good leadoff man has has a little pop but the Grady HOF wagon should be held off for a little...

I sure don't think he's overrated, and the stats that you so kindly posted completely answer the question for you. .290/25/80 with 45-55 SBs and over 100 runs looks pretty good to me. Leadoff men aren't expected to hit 30+HR's/100+RBI's.

****whats with the thumbs up/down trolls? Ambrose, you invite your buddies to go along with your moronic hypothesis?

Will lead the league in runs scored--not impressive huh?

Hits leadoff -any RBI chances come only if the bottom of the order reaches. The guy usually bats twice a game with nobody on. That expalins your RBI bellyache.

Speed has to do with average? He will hit his .300 And again...WHAT DOES SPEED HAVE TO DO WITH AVERAGE??

Yeah 11 Homers for a Leadoff guy is awful!!! He will hit his 25 Homers...and that will still be bad, huh???

I hate the way he hustles every play also--he should be ashamed of himself.

Did you mention the kid (I say kid because MR. Overrated is still very young)is a Gold Glove caliber Center Fielder??

And back to average. He can't hit .300???? Why not? Is there a law? My money says he will--but then again I know more about this topic then you...

Another stupid Yahoo Answer question...congratulate yourself.

    He is a guy who:

Never hit over .300 in his carrer

Never had more than 30 homeruns

Never stole more than 30 bases.

    Not a great fielder.

He is a J.Damon type of a guy.And you compare him with Vladimire Guerero. Give me a brake!

your overrated u idiot, he's a good player, last time i checked .291 was a great average, 25 homers is great for speedy guy, 75 RBI's is expected from a guy who hits at the order, your just an idiot
