A puzzle for Christan (Changed from my other questions)?
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this law applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

Let me guess what website....God is imaginary 50 simple proofs???? Funny thing that you have posted is they are all Old Testament Verses...actually laws that you have posted...I am not going to post a Bible verse because chances are you don't believe in the Bible anyway you are just using it to justify what you want to think...which is certainly your right to do..
However Jesus Christ came and was the atonement for these sins. They are mostly laws that were geared for the Jewish people in the Old Testament...so being that I am a Christian and not a Jew (part of their Torah) they don't really apply to me...Oh and you should really read the whole book of Leviticus, and read the verses before and after the ones you have posted so that you can actually see what context they were meant to be in...Not just an excerpt that a few people have found to prove what ever it is they are trying to prove...get all the facts before you believe their fiction...Make a well informed decision on your own..try reading an actual Bible and stepping into an actual Church you might find out there is more to Christianity then you think...Good Luck in your quest whatever it may be.

Yes, the first covenant was extensive, detailed, and sometimes quite strange to our understanding. Praise God that we live not under the law but under grace!
Jesus offered a "new covenant" at the cost of his blood. The invitation is open to all. If you choose to live under the old covenant, you are required to follow it precisely, exactly, and to never waver. You will have many hundreds of laws to consider, and you will need to become more skilled at determining which are ceremonial, which are civic, and which are religious laws. You will also need to follow the sacrificial regulations very carefully and have (I'm thinking many, many) pure animals on hand to offer for the covering of your sins).
Unfortunately, even then, you will not have the power to follow the law completely enough to save you from your sin. It will merely point out to you how powerless you are to save your self.
But good luck with that.
Blessings.

Christ fulfilled the Mosaic Law of the Old Testament, from which you quote scripture, and gave us a NEW COVENANT.
Christians live under that New Covenant. So stop with the word games about slavery, etc. It's utter and complete nonsense.

I like Exodus because it explains how I should beat my slaves & wife, but I have a question about my X wife & can find no answer in the scriptures. Still again, I like the idea of stoning these kids that do not honor me. Rocks are cheap.

I think this verse applies to all the unbelievers concerning this question:
Matthew 7:6
"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces."
We as Christians....shouldn't waste our time throwing our pearls (the precious mysteries of God) to pigs (unbelievers). Why do you ask these questions?? In order for us to enlighten you about truth...we would have to refer to the Holy Bible...the source that you don't believe is truth. You would never understand the Word of God without His Spirit giving you revelation or understanding. Don't waste your time trying to understand...YOU WON"T!!

Don't need to, know what you are trying to get at. All I can say is good work. It seems that it is ok for religious fanatics to quote scripture as a way to prove their point, but when non-believer do it to prove their point, the religious people turn around and say your just splitting hair.

Hahahaha. You've made my day.
On a side note, umm... let me answer these questions to the best of my ability. From what I understand, God isn't bound by our laws or whatnot. And so, the answer to all of your questions are in the Bible. If you don't find the answers, keep looking. If you do find the answers, keep looking- you'll probably find something that contradicts what you just found.

That's the reason Christians have disowned the Old Testament, so I guess they can drop Genesis also. Or at least I hope

This was in regards to the old law; read the whole Bible including the new testament and it should clear all this up for you.

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for this one, but I assure you that when you die, you can ask God. I'm sure he'll clear it up for ya.
