Sharing Easy Cube Steak Recipes? Here's mine!?

I was wondering if anyone has a great, easy, and tasty cube steak recipe? Here's mine!

1lb (or so) cube steak

2 peppers (any color)

2 medium onions

chopped garlic

olive oil (vegetable oil is ok too)

egg noodles

Put 1/3 of the egg noodles in water and start to boil. In a pan, put a moderate amount of olive oil (enough to cook the meat and veggies) in and start heat. Once hot, put the meat on, with a liberal amount of garlic on top. While that is cooking, chop your peppers and onions. Flip the meat, then add veggies. Cook to preferred state, don't overdo the noodles, and enjoy!

    CUBE STEAK ROLL-UPS

    8 to 10 cube steaks

    2 pkgs. beef gravy mix

    1 pkg. Stove Top mix

Mix stuffing mix as directed on package. Spoon stuffing mix on cube steaks, roll up and secure with wooden toothpick. Brown steaks in frying pan. Mix gravy as directed. Pour over browned cube steak roll-ups and simmer for 45 minutes.

NOTE: Use 2 packages of gravy mix when making 8 to 10 roll-ups. Use your choice of stuffing.

    CHICKEN FRIED STEAK

2 pkg. tenderized cube or round steak

    1 c. whole milk

    1 1/2 c. flour

    2 tsp. salt

    1 tbsp. black pepper

    1 1/2 - 2 c. cooking oil

    Good heavy skillet

I start heating my skillet first and when it gets warmed up (7 minutes), I add my cooking oil and let it heat also. While that is heating up, I get the steak ready, pound each steak with the side of a mallet or palm of your hand until very thin. Place steaks (2 at a time) in shallow dish containing milk. Next, mix the flour, salt and pepper in a shallow dish. Remove steak from milk, dredge in flour mixture, place into skillet and brown on both sides. Continue cooking until all steaks are cooked.

    CREAM GRAVY:

    1/3 c. hot steak drippings

    1/4 c. flour

    2 c. milk

    Salt and pepper to taste

I use another skillet, let it get hot and add steak drippings, flour, salt and pepper. Stir with wire whisk until blended. Next add 2 cups milk, continuing to stir until gravy thickens. Serve with chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes.

    EASY ONION STEAK & POTATOES

1 lb. cube steaks, cut in half

    1 tbsp. salad oil

    1 env. onion soup mix

    4-5 potatoes, peeled, sliced

    1 pkg. French's gravy mix

In large skillet (or electric fry pan) brown steaks in salad oil. Mix soup mix according to directions. Add to steaks, top with sliced potatoes. Reduce heat to low or simmer. Continue cooking until tender, about 30 minutes. You may have to add little more water. Serves 4.

    STUFFED CUBE STEAK

    4 cube steak

    Salt and pepper

    Garlic powder

    2 lg. onions, sliced thick

Bread dressing (or dressing of your choice)

1 can cream of mushroom soup

Brown the cube steaks on one side. Place a portion of dressing on uncooked side of cube steak. Fold steak over crosswise and secure with toothpick. Place sliced onion into pot. Place steaks onto onions. Pour undiluted soup over everything. Cover pot and simmer at low heat for 1 1/2 hours. Shake pan from side to side to keep from sticking.

A vegetable or raw potatoes, quartered, adding during the last 45 minutes is very good as a one-pot dinner. May be frozen.

Cut cube steak in half then in half again. I like mine in about 2 inch squares.

Roll in flour mixed with salt and pepper and a little garlic salt.

Pan fry in oil on medium heat until brown.

I also cook mashed potatoes and make brown gravy with the packed mix.

Cube steak can be frozen easily if you cut it in quarters and lay it in a ziplock bag in a single layer. You can freeze it and get out as much as you need without thawing out the whole package.

Source(s): My x daughter in law Sandra taught me to cook cube steak like this. When she had cube steak for supper I always invited myself to eat with them. I am so thankful she did not mind.

This is my husband's absolute favorite meal!

    Cube Steak with Onion Gravy:

    1 lb. cube steak

    1 cup flour

    Salt, pepper, garlic powder

    2 cans beef broth

    1 onion, chopped

    1 envelope onion soup mix

    1 tbsp. worchestershire sauce

    Salt, pepper, 1/2 tsp. thyme

Place flour in a shallow dish and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Coat cube steak with flour well and place in a hot skillet with vegetable oil. Brown cube steaks well on both sides and remove from skillet-- you're not cooking them all the way through now. With drippings/oil from the pan add in enough flour to make a roux, usually 2-3 tbsp. Brown the flour/oil/roux mixture until it turns a deep golden brown over medium low heat, usually takes 10 minutes. Whisk in enough beef broth for a gravy-- this you have to use your judgment on. Keep whisking to remove all lumps. Now add in all seasonings such as salt, pepper, thyme. onion soup mix, worchestershire sauce, and chopped onion and stir to combine. Add in browned cube steak and turn heat to low and simmer covered for one and a half hours. You may need to add more broth during cooking time. Serve over hot buttered rice and enjoy!
