pirates of the caribbean 3 questions- please help?

Here are a few answers; hope they help!

1. The Pirate Lords did not have to release Calypso. They chose to do so because they thought that it would be the best chance they had in defeating the East India Trading Company and the Flying Dutchman. In the lore of the movies, Calypso had total reign over the sea, and was imprisoned by the original Pirate Lords so that the human race would be able to determine their own destiny on the Ocean. They decided to release her, and give her back her power, on the chance that she would use her power to destroy the East India force.

2. Jack’s father was in the movie mostly to serve as a vehicle by which Rolling Stone’s Guitarist Keith Richards could make a Cameo appearance. Johnny Depp had said, after the first movie was released, that a lot of the way that he played Jack Sparrow came from observing Keith Richards and imitating him. The Directors decided to throw the cameo in the end of the trilogy, having Keith Richards in the role of Jack’s father, as a tribute to that fact. In the movie, Jack’s father is not dead, but was the Code Keeper, in charge of the original copy of the Pirate Code. He is also shown at the end of the final battle, indicating that he survived.

3. The Chinese pirates were servants of one of the 9 Pirate Lords, Captain Sao Feng (Played by Yun Fat Chow). They remained in the movie after his death because, as his last act, Sao Feng made Elizabeth his successor, one of the 9 pirate lords and Captain of the Chinese vessel.

4. They save Jack for their own reasons. Elizbeth is motivated by guilt, Will and Barbosa out of their desire for the Pearl, and several other characters simply because they missed Jack. In addition, as Barbosa explains, he must be saved because he was one of the 9 Pirate Lords, and hadn’t named a successor when he died. Thus, he was still the guardian of one of the 9 pieces of eight, and Barbosa needed that in order to release Calypso.

5. Will needed the Black Pearl in order to assist in rescuing his father. His father was enslaved aboard the Flying Dutchman, and the only ship that had a chance against the Dutchman was the Black Pearl.

6. Norrington was a character in each of the two prior movies, having started out as a Commodore in the British Navy in charge of the Capture of Jack Sparrow. Eventually, his failure in that pursuit lost him his commission, and he made his way as a Pirate and hired hand. In the second movie, he was able to obtain Davy Jones’ heart, and traded it to Lord Beckett in exchange for the commission of Admiral in the British Navy (one of the highest naval ranks). The third movie finds Norrington regretting his “selling out”, despite his new found titles and honors, and he is killed while helping Elizabeth escape from Beckett’s grasp. His story in the third movie is one of redemption and honorable death.

7. Elizabeth’s father was killed by Lord Beckett because of his continued involvement in, and disapproval of, the East India Trading Co.’s affairs.

1. The Lords released Calypso because they thought that she would be on their "side" to fight against the English soliders. Remember the soliders wanted to control the waters.

2. I don't think he was dead. He was the keeper of the Code. I think that's why he was there.

4. The Chinese were pirates too. There "captain" person was a pirate lord, too.

6. He wanted to save his father and release him from the Black Pearl. His father was a prisoner of Davy Jones,bound to the ship for eternity.

7. Let me check on that. I think he just wanted the gold.

8. The English killed him because he was useless. Once they figured out where all the pirates were, they didn't have to hand on to him. He was dead weight.

1 - They didn't have to, it was Barbossa's plan to regain control the Black Pearl and to destroy the Navy Fleet. Barbossa convinced half of the Pirate Lords that she would aid them.

2 - No, he isn't dead, Jacks father was in the movie to show some form of family or relationshio attachment for Jack, everyone else has attachments, Jack seems to know everyone - Here we realise why he knows all Pirate codes and get a better insight to Johnny Depps character.

4 - (cuz you missed number 3) The Chinese guy was a feared Pirate Lord - they needed his character to promote Elizabeth Swann to Pirate Lord in the movie as he died believing her to be Calypso.

5 - He had one of the nine pieces of eight to bring Calypso back.

6 - To take on the flying dutchman and free his father.

7 - In the 2nd one he gives Davy Jones' heart away in order to get his former status back - he gets power back and in the 3rd he is the general watchman of Davy Jones in order to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid.

8 - Elizabeths dad died because . . . . Damn, I dont remember.

1. why did the pirate lords have to release calypso? I think cause they wanted her to fight against the squid guy

2.why was jacks father in the movie? is he dead? That part I missed, I don't remember being a dad of his there

3.what do the chinese ppl have to do with anything? nothing but they were part of piracy

5.why does will need the black pearl? to get around and cause the captain wanted it too

6.can you explain norrington's role in the movie? why is he important? Just to continue his character and how he changed

7.why did elizabeths dad die?cause they needed to get rid of him cause of the plan's the other captain idiot had

they didn't have to but barbossa wanted to do it so calypso can defeat the british army and keep piracy alive and kicking

because jack is one of the pirate lords and all the lords need to be present so that the brethren court can convey and each pirate lord has a piece of eight that need to be together so that calypso can be released

it is the only ship fast enough to catch the flying dutchmin, the ship will's father is imprisioned on and will promised his father he would set him free in the 2nd movie, dead man's chest

to watch davy jones and keep him under control of the british navy

breckett killed him cuz he was no longer needed.

go watch the movie again cuz the last two answers might be a bit messed up. i had to see ocean's 11 two times to get it.

1. The released her to bet the East Indian Trading Company, but she had to trick Caption Brabosa to make it happen.

2.They did that just so they could get Keith Richards of the rolling stones in the movie, because Johnny Depp mimicked Keith in his role of Captian Jack

She marries Will and there is a teaser that she is pregnant with Will's baby. Elizabeth liked the daring of Jack but she is in love with Will! YOU WIN!!
