i will always respect benoit's ability as a wrestler...... but if it is true that he killed his family, then i will lose my respect for benoit as a person

I wouldn't loose respect. I would feel even worse for him. Something has to be really wrong for someone to take such actions. It is so sad. I hope that they can all rest in peace. So sad.....

I would never lose the respect for him because he was a great athlete and person and hes christian so he would not do that anyway

He spent 22 years entertaining the fans and I will always respect him for that.

He gave all he had not just for wrestling but his family

And now his 2 remaining children are left behind mourning there fathers death and to wonder why

    .

He had his first child with Nancy Daus-Sullivan together on February 25, 2000, a son named Daniel Christopher Benoit. Benoit has a son, David, and a daughter, Megan from his ex-wife.

R I P Chris and Daniel And Nancy

And Prayers go out to david and megan as well

These questions about Chris Benoit need to stop already. How many times has this been asked? How many times are people going to argue back and forth without knowing the full story or anything about Benoit's family or personal life, and not even take into account his physical condition and mental health? The truth of the matter is this: until we are 100% sure of what happened regarding Chris Benoit and his family, including what caused the tragedy and how it was done, people should seriously stop talking about it and saying things like, "He's going to burn." A lot of people condemning Benoit or defending him for his contributions to Professional Wrestling need to seriously let it go and move on, especially if you're not part of his family or his wife's. **starred**

I'll post an answer to a previous question:

"Look, here are my thoughts on the situation if (IF) Benoit did, in fact, do it. It's obvious to anyone that he would have serious psychological disorders in order to pull off something like that. I read somewhere how this person thought that killing your family is despicable, no matter how mentally off one is. I would counter by saying that one in a mental state where he could murder his own family cannot actually be considered despicable.

Do I think that Benoit should have been locked up for life if he had in fact done the deed and were still alive? Or Nancy for that matter? Yes. Would I piss on them and talk about how disgusting and despicable they are, condemning them to rot in hell? No. If what wwe.com reports is true, I think it's one of the biggest tragedies in the history of this great business. That doesn't mean I have lost any respect for Benoit or consider him evil".

Most definitely. I don't care if someone is the most phenomenal person in their chosen profession, a murderer is still a murderer, & it would take a real low-life scumbag to murder his own son. While I'm not saying Benoit did it yet, & I hope he didn't, I will lose all respect for him if he turns out to have murdered his family. I wouldn't condone him murdering his wife, but even if she did something to him, his child was innocent, & his own offspring. That takes a special kind of sick freak to do this to their own child. If Chris Benoit murdered his family & committed suicide, I'm a firm believer there's nothing society could do worse to him considering where he would be right now, but I would oppose him ever being inducted into any wrestling hall of fame, regardless of his accomplishments in the ring, just for committing such a heinous act. If Pete Rose can't be in the Baseball Hall of Fame for gambling, a multiple murderer certainly would not deserve such recognition. I sincerely hope this isn't what happened, but if it is, you know where I stand. If it turns out he was also murdered, then I would support the immediate induction of a murder victim into a wrestling hall of fame, but not for a murderer.

I think the first two posters said it best. None of us knew Benoit beyond what we saw at live events or on the screen. We didn't know what is was like to be in the ring with him, nor did we know what it was like to be his friend or part of his family. All we know/knew is/was Christ Benoit the wrestler, and I think everyone respected that. I will be deeply saddened and very disappointed if it's true that Chris did all of this, but I won't lose respect for what little I knew of him.

First off I have to ask what Christianity has to do with it.I have been a Firefighter for over 12 years and a First Responder for 8 years. There is alot of people that have been Christians and killed someone then killed themselves.Believe me I have seen it on more than one occasion.....Anyway as a wrestler no I wouldn't lose respect for him,but as a person yes.I dont care how mad you get there is no justification for harming/killing a child.Just my two cents.

The only way I know Benoit as is a wrestler, and as that, I'll always respect him.

For his private life I have no idea how he is or why he did what he did, so I don't feel I have grounds to judge him.

  • 1 decade ago

no because even if the man did it...that has nothing to do with the fans. and they should keep that in mind. throughout his whole career he had alot of respect for some of the greatest wrestlers of all time and he has also earned their respect too. and i know that he will be missed dearly

    R.I.P The Benoit Family

    peace xxxxxxxxxx
