I really like this guy, he knows I like him, but isn't saying anything, what do I do?

I don't think there's any problem with a note. It's casual, it's kind of fun, and sometimes your best words come out when you write. A classic example that is even used in college is where you ask a question and have two boxes, one for yes and one for no. Your question might be "So, are you going to ask me out?" Then the ball is in his court. Hope things work out for you!

Here's the thing about guys.....if they like you, they'll let you know. He already knows you're into him, so I would maybe let him make the next step. Definitely engage in conversation when you're around each other, but don't push it. I wouldn't necessarily come out and tell him myself since you're friend already did that. He may be shy/unsure, so give him some time to process it all.
