I am not certain about the electrical technician's degree but the I can tell you about Electrical Engineering.
Electrical Engineering is a 4 year degree. To major in electrical engineering you're going to need to take a lot of math. Calculus, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. You're going to need to take 1 year of general physics. A number of classes in Computer Science and programming. You're also going to take major courses in Signals and Processing, RF, Systems and Controls, Power and Circuits.
I hope this gives you a general overview.
