When during a miscarriage do your hcg levels drop?

I should be 9 weeks along. Early last week I went to the ob triage because I had been bleeding and I passed several large clots. The dr didn't see the baby with ultra sound and said that I had a miscarriage. When he got my hcg level back he started talking about twins and maybe I lost one or the gestation was earlier than we thought. I believe he said my hcg level was 2400. I went back last Thursday another hcg test done but I don't know the result yet, I have a Dr appt this Thur. I was so sure that I lost the baby. Would my hcg levels have been that high if I was having, had, or in the process of having a miscarriage?

Update:

I am also still having pregnancy symptoms.

Since the doctor mentioned that you might be having twins. It is possible to have a partial miscarriage where you only lose one baby but the other lives. If that is the case then you are still pregnant and your levels will continue to increase just not at the steep rate they were. Relax until you get your results on Thursday.

this is a little hard to determine because the HCG is definitely and indicator as far as if they are dropping. The problem is that it might start dropping before or during. Mine started dropping and my doctor told me it was a matter of time before I would pass my baby. Your numbers are pretty good for how far along you are but another possibility is that you have 2 babys in there and one is going to pass. The only real way to tell is to go and have another HCG betta test doen. There will be a total of three test with 2-3 days in between each one. If it continues to drop then yes its a good possibility that you will misscarry. There is always hope and I hope that it works out for you.

If you're still having symptoms of pregnancy, its possible there is still an embryo in there (I hope so). I miscarried at 14 weeks, and the hcg dropped way before I knew I miscarried, because the embryo died and stuck around with me for a while before there were any clues, like bleeding. The real indicator for me was that I completely lost ALL symptoms of pregnancy - that should have been the warning all was not well, but I subconsciously ignored that.

Hope all goes well for you.

I had a miscarrige at 6 weeks and my hcg dropped from 187 to 5 in 3 days so you could of just lost one twin and still be pregnant because that number is really high for just, or in the process of miscarring. once you start to bleed from a miscarrige it starts to drop right away

Good luck and I wish you the best!!

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.

You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.

It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out this video here: http://www.sexyjese.com/ - it will blow your mind.

If you are HAVING signs, then I would say what he said "twins" ...it is very possible to lose one and keep one...but your numbers would be high if you had twins at first.

However, it is strange he is making you wait ...he should have done your blood and then had you come in for another one in 48 hours as your numbers would be increased by then.

Hope all is well with the testing, and you still have a bean in there.

Suck it in. Consciously hold in and contract your ab muscles while you’re walking, sitting at the desk or making the an evening meal. This will help to strengthen your abs and your core, and provide you with one step closer to a new flatter stomach.

Eat muesli two hours before exercising to boost fat burning because you train. Slow to digest, muesli takes longer to get through your system, so is less apt to be turned into fat and still provides a good energy boost.

Beans, beans, are perfect for your heart, the more consume the more you... lose excess weight actually. Super-effective and full of fibre, beans will regulate your appetite and decelerate the rate at which ones stomach empties, meaning you keep fuller for longer.
