I was shocked as everyone else when I heard about this on Tuesday morning (in the UK here). I'm very mixed up at the moment. I had a lot of respect for him as a wrestler. He was one of the greatest. But to do what he has done, I don't know. We'll have to wait and see until all the facts are in to see what really happened to be 100% sure that he did kill his family. If he did (99.999% sure) why was there not some more signs that he was unstable? These people are under a lot of stress doing what they're doing. OK, I know they're not doctors or lawyers, etc but they're on the road away from there loved ones and can get mentally lonely. Surely there must be something in place at WWE to asses the physic state of their employees and I think from what we know so far, that something could have been done to prevent this awful tradgedy. But whatever comes back from all the tests, etc I think he should NOT be inducted into the Hall of Fame, because quite simply, he killed his wife and his poor defenceless son. RIP the Benoits.

If you were a true wrestling fan, how could you NOT respect Chris Benoit? Back at Wrestlemania 20 when Benoit won the World Heavyweight title, Benoit deserved it. He deserved the respect he demanded. He was one of the best pure wrestlers. Chris Benoit was one of the main reasons I went to Vengeance in the first place. I can't picture him doing the damage to his family. Hall of Fame. He should go in pretty damn soon. Don't wait till 'Mania.

I don't know if I've ever felt what you could call respect for Mr. Benoit, I'm not a fan of wrestling. I do however feel extremely sorry for his family, but in particular I feel sorry for him. I can only imagine what a dark place he must have been in mentally and emotionally to commit such senseless acts, and to then feel that there is no recourse but to take his own life. What a wretched and depressing state he must have been in. Of course it's only speculation at this stage that he did commit those acts, and I think it is presumptive, and callous to be attacking the poor man without the full facts of the case.

We all have to admit that what he did was stunning, shocking and just plainly put, wrong. So as a human being, the respect that we, or I, had for him has diminished significantly. But as a professional wrestler, someone who came week after week to entertain the masses throughout the world, he is one of the greats. Professional wrestling will not be the same without him, whether it be for better or for worse. I just hope that his family, especially his son, would be able to rest in peace.

I did at first but know i don't. Yea he did some great things in the ring but by doing what he did i think that has tarnish his career. I can't respect a man that kills his wife and child i don't care what he did in the ring. I watch the tribute on tv and all those wrestlers said all those things about him and how he love his family. I think that for a person that loves his family he really showed it. I don't respect the man and i think that his actions tarnish his career in the ring. I am so disugested about this.

I still respect him. Yes, he may have performed a heinous crime (double homicide), but is actions in the ring shows what a hard worker he was. I don't like what he did, I don't respect his last few decisions, but it does not change how I felt about him overall.
Suppose someone close to you, that you respected, and everyone liked, did something like this. Would you drop everything they ever did in their life and forget about the good they did just for one heinous act?

I still respect Benoit as one of the best wrestlers, but as a human being for his dastardly acts, no.

No one knows what really happened.
I don't think he did. This is what i think happened.
The paper said that his wife was strangled and hands and feet were tied up. Benoit wouldn't do that and he wouldn't smoother his son with pillows.(if you think about it wouldn't he use wrestling moves instead of that?)
What i think happened:
I think someone came to his house on friday when he was away and strangeld his wife, and smoothered his son.
But he didnt come to vengence because of a family emergence (thats what he said) so i think he came home sunday called wwe told them he couldnt go (after he found his family.) put bibles next to them and decided to hang hiself because he couldnt live without them.
I dont care if someone thought that was stupid. i thought it was stupid when the police started saying chris killed his family!
the fact is that know one really knows what happend! the police were just suggesting all of that stuff.
If you are a real fan of chris you people should know that he wouldn't ever do that!!!!
People will be sorry when they find out he didnt do it!
