Sin! Really Long?

I've heard that God forgives all sins once you have asked for forgiveness. Be it murder, abuse (sexual and violent) ect.

Whatever happened to 'If you do the crime you do the time' - and I'm not talking specifically about jail time here. It's about Karma. If you are forgiven instantly then I don't believe that you've learnt the lessons your soul/spirit needed to in this life. It's an easy ticket out.

This may sound harsh and I do realise that people can turn around and trully be sorry for the harm that they caused but it's also like a child physically hurting lets say an animal then turning around and saying sorry. The child needs the punishment to learn the lesson - be it naughty corner or taking away privliges (I dont believe in spanking) Otherwise they may just do it again.

Also I dont believe feeling guilt is a punishment for the action. Guilt is self created.

What are your oppinions on repenting for sins?

Repentance is the key to forgiveness. If you are truly repentant you turn completely away from that sin. That's true rehabilitation. You will however have to suffer the consequences for your actions a lot of times. Although your sins are completely forgiven God doesn't remove the consequences. I disagree with what hobo said" that God will still punish sin after you repent. "Punishment is different than the natural consequences that come from sinning. Discipline is meant to bring about a change in behavior. If one has truly repented, that change has already taken place and there is no longer a need for punishment, however the consequences can sometimes last a lifetime.God bless!!

nicely, sin by using the Christian definition is the two very particular and obscure on a similar time. so as that makes your question puzzling to reply to, yet i think of that if the particular sin which you're conversing approximately would harm you or every physique else it is going to doubtfully deliver approximately lengthy-lasting happiness. even if, i've got discovered that i'm a plenty happier guy or woman because i finished annoying plenty approximately each little sin and extra approximately being the main suitable guy or woman i will and attempting to easily care approximately different people. the uncomplicated "golden rule" stuff could probably get you by using basically wonderful.

You're confusing religions. God and the new testament has no belief in Karma...nor a need for it. X-tians believe when you die...you either go to hell or heaven.

Karma is for those that believe you can come back to earth or elsewhere and live again.

I'm pretty sure I've heard of cases where the person was refused absolution. Though...I don't believe what X-tians do, so either way it's no matter to me.

I think one should avoid doing wrongs, not because someone says a 'god' says it's wrong, or government says it's wrong, but because deep down in our own souls, we know it's wrong, and because we want to strive to be better human beings. But that's just me...and I try to instill that kind of thinking in my children. But we all make mistakes, the key is to try to not make big ones that hurt others.

God does punish people for their wrong doings. It comes back to them one way or another. It has a karma effect. The Lord forgives but he also avenges. Like when David had a adulterous affair with Bathsheba God punished him but forgave him.

God says in the Bible that all can repent from thier sins but does not say that you should not have to pay for your sins. Remember God is forgiving.

There is one sin God doesn't forgive and that is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

He forgives every other sin and God doesn't put sins in different categories like we do , to Him sin is sin, it all is unrighteousness to Him , because He is a Holy God.

Sin is forgiven if you ask with all your heart, but still there is a punishment.

For example, if you steal something, no one know. Then you feel sorry and ask God to forgive you. God will forgive you but then you will feel you lost something someway.

For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.

for as long as you truly are sorry for the mistakes you've done and asked forgiveness to the person you've hurt and vowed to yourself never to do it again.. that for me is repenting for the sins you have done.

You are getting a couple of different religious beliefs mixed up here. Kharma is not a Christian belief.
