Question about DirectX and The Sims 2?
I've placed the Sims 2 on my lap top many, many times but lately when I've tried to play I get this message about DirectX:
Failed to find any Directx 9.oc compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a directx 9.oc compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer.
So then I looked up DirectX on Microsoft and tried to download another version of it and it says that it can't be done and that the application will close. I don't understand what's going on and why this has started all of a sudden when I've played it on my computer many times. Can anyone help me please!
I do have DX 9c but it's not working!

i would uninstall the graphics driver and reinstall it.. check ur manufacturer support site for an updated driver ... maybe reinstall the game to ... as for directx, type dxdiag in ur run dialogue box to see what version u have ... if u have 9c ur ok ...

it means your video card doesnt support dx 9. no matter how many times you try, its not gonna work. if you are using on-board video card, then no doubt your video card is weak. most on-board(built-in) video cards dont support DX9.
video cards that support DX 9c are Nvidia FX series, 6 series, 7 and 8 series cards. ATI Radeon 9200, 9550, 9700 and so on series, X800, x1100, x1300 and so on series.
