We're doing abortion in school and i'd be interested on your opinions on when a human life begins; conception, 3 months, birth etc. Please give a reason.

That is hard to say; getting pregnant is the result of a "live" sperm hitting a "live" egg. Both sperm and egg are the product of "live" humans. As you can see there is no hiatus in life, no convenient marker there. "at conception", as often used by anti-abortionists, is an arbitrary and rather ignorant place to put a marker. A clump of cells is not a human.

And really, before the central nervous system and brain have fully developed, it can not be called a human. At best, it can be called a potential human. So that is where I would place the line. Killing a thinking, feeling human is out. Aborting a potential human under certain circumstances is not.

Those circumstances should be carefully considered, but then, I don't know of any women who take abortion lightly. Any woman thinking about abortion usually has a damned good reason to do so, a fact often overlooked by anti-abortionists.

Let me begin my answer to this ?, with a couple ?'s to you. 1. What does it mean for something to have life? 2. When some one is pregnant, do they ever think they are going to give birth to anyting other than a human baby? To me life begins at conception. Developmental stages are a part of every living thing.

This is not a matter of 'opinion', God says life begins at conception. Life begins when the soul of the child begins. To determine when this is we need to go to the Bible. The Bible teaches in Exodus 21:22-25 of the crime of killing an unborn child. The punishment is the same as if the child was outside the womb.

I believe life is a form of energy and has no beginning or end - I believe it changes form and rate of vibration. So , to answer your question, at conception life already exists and begins to take it's new form.

At conception. With the uniting of sperm and egg a unique person comes into being.

At the point the egg begins to divide. It is now alive because it is changing of it's own accord. To me, that is the point it becomes life.

    At the point of conception.

The original is changed and obtains energy to start cell division. Somethings happening. It's life.
