If I get a violation notice email, will my account be taken away?

I got an e-mail from yahoo! saying that "You have posted content to Yahoo! Answers in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. As a result, your content has been deleted. Community Guidelines help to keep Yahoo! Answers a safe and useful community, so we appreciate your consideration of its rules."

It told me the question and the answer. It was a joke. I think someone had to of reported me. Will yahoo! delete my account?

It also told me I was behind 12 points.

it all depends how serious your violation was.

my last account was deleted because I yelled at someone for being racist....I was really really inappropriate though but racism is not okay.

My account was deactivated so I simply made a new one and now am nice even if I don't agree- to a certain extent.

My best advice is save pics to your computer, email addresses etc because you will lose it all if your email gets deactivated.

  • If you get a suspension notice then your account is deleted. That's what someone told me anyway. I heard that you lose 2 points for the answer and 10 points for the violation or something like that. I guess some people like to report others. It's best to be careful as to what you are saying.

No... if you just get 1 Violation Notice, your account won't be deleted... most of us on Y!A have gotten at least one or two Violation Notices...

Don't worry about it girl, it's gonna be alright.

You'e gonna need to piss them off really hard in order for them to delete your account.

Just try to be "nice and friendly" and learn the Community Guidelines by heart:)

Well last time I had a violation for driving under the influence of diet cola without having a diet. I went to my fitness trainer and he said he was faking it, he's really just a tourist. So I called my lawyer and he was faking it too, he's not really a lawyer, he was just scam artist. It was a good day.

Don't sweat the small stuff....and don't break the rules if you can help it....The best of the old timers here are no longer using their original account, or the second, or third....

No, you won't get suspended. I've gotten 4 or 5 violations and I've never been suspended, so don't worry.

no they wont delete your account. i think after several violations your account will get suspended. if you really want to fight this, get on yahoo's as$ because they won't do much unless you push them.
