How do you get rid of the smell of leather.?

Why would you want to- the smell of fresh leather is very nice.

You can dilute the smell with a good leather cleaner. Get one that does not have a fragrance. It will eventually make the leather smell dilute but you will never totally get rid of it. It will just make the smell not be offensive to you when you open the purse.

Or you can try storing the purse with newspaper stuffed inside. Newspaper will absorb most smells and it may work for the " new leather " smell as well.

The only way would be to completely seal the leather which would be pretty pointless. You could always carry something in your purse that could mask the smell of the leather but then you would smell whatever it was whenever you got into your purse.

Personally I love the smell of leather and as with all smells you get used to them to the point that you do not smell them anymore. Its the way the brain works to keep from melting down due to information overload. Its the reason most people who stink don't know that they stink.

go to the automotive section of walmart and get a leather seat cleaning product. use that product on the purse. it will provide a protectant coat over the purse to make it a bit more water resistant and it will take away some of the leather smell. also, keep it out of the sun as much as possible. sunlight brings out the leather smell.

Just leave it in the open for a couple of days, the smell will go away itself. You basically need to air it out.
