hey, i'm gonna be a junior next year. a little bit of both is a great style! wearing all abercrombie or hollister is not unique at all. in high school you want to be your own person and have your own style. people will compliment you on that all the time.
i like to wear one of a kind tops and jewelry pieces, or shoes with some cute AE or hollister jeans. that way it doens't look to "dressed up" for school, casual but unique. people who only wear abercrombie are labeled just like the brand. if you wear unique clothes people won't look at you as "another face in the crowd", you will stand out in a good way.
and if anyone did label you as a goody two shoes, which i doubt, they'd only do that because you'd be dressing ten times better than them. :)
wearing unique tops, shoes, and jewelry, or carrying amazingly cute bags is a great way to define yourself and you will come across as a confident person as soon as you walk through the door.
high school is so much fun! as far as being a freshman and meeting new people, it is a great idea to compliment at least one person sitting next to you in every class. on their outift or whatever. they're gonna be totally nerveous too and will definatly appreciate it. plus its great to go ahead and make friends with people the first day, you'll be in that class with them for the next 5 months. i did this the first day of school and one of the girls i talked to in one of my classes ended up becoming one of my best new friends.
oh and first day of school tip, never wear a skirt or anything. way too dressed up. and chances are you'll be doing alot of walking trying to find your classes.
good luck!

First of all, you should consult the high school's officials on what kind of rules they got on what the students should and shouldn't wear, every school got that kind of rules.
Second of all, you should observe what kind of outfits the students there wear and what the average outfits would the average student there wear.
Third, you go at the first day with the outfits you got that is according to school's rules and what the average students there usually wear. If you don't have these kind of outfits, shop for them!
In short, do NOT dress in high fashion for the first time there, go for the Lowest Common Denominator, then move up after you have been there for a while (a month or so).
Your safety and social life is much more important than not wanting to dress like everyone else.

Okay firstly, you don't want to come of as trying to hard. So for the first day stick to something you feel comfortable in but also shows your unique fashion sense. Don't wear abercrombie or w.e cuz you think everyone else will be wearing it. If you wear something unique, people may even compliment you and you'll look confident because you're not trying to look like everyone else. Good luck and I hope I helped a bit.

sorry this is sooooo long!!!
i/m gonna be a freshmen too, and i always
dressed kind of quorkie.
i recently decided that the way i dressed was a distraction and i focused more on the way i dressed and how crazy i could go without breaking the dresscode, than on school itself. so i pitched my entire closet, and went for a more refined loook, that was fresh, intelligent and sexy all in one.
so i'm extremely nervous going in on my first day of high school because everyone remebers me by my crazy fashion sense, and i don't know how i'll be looked upon when i show up in the standard low cut abercrombie jeans and polo.
definately wear something YOU are comfortable in. i've been such an akward, tall, gawky chick my whole life, and i just started to come into myself now, which is bringing me confidence, hence, the new wardrobe. i tried to hid my akwardness with headscarves, and gotti necklaces, and it worked whille i was akward. but im much more like a young woman, and i want to DRESS TO REFLECT myself
skinny jeans are hot this season, and i wore them all last school year when only the emo kids were.
and try to show off your best attributes.
confidence is key, and only you can make youself sexy. clothes aren't even the half of it.
good luck, and i'm right there with you!

Hey girl,
I was just a freshman last year, and was really nervous. I had watched Mean Girls and was afraid of a group like that. Oddly enough, girls were against downright mean-ness. All the "cool" girls DID avoid the wannabees and weirdos, but do an average girl that wasnt part of their clique, they were perfectly nice. Just be calm, casual, don't ever insult anyone even behind someones back, if someones finds out your crush, just be like, "Yeah, he's cute. I might ask him out." Remember, you left middle school behind where they did this kind of thing like, "No, I don't like him! Eeeww!" Then blush, and everyone would laugh and say you luuuuv him, and ya..lol.
Also, stay on top of homework, don't get lower that B-'s on anything, because grades matter. Don't overrreact to anything anyone sais about you or your freind or something, just be calm, relaxed, and truthful...jut not insulting. Be confident. Be sophisticated. Be clever. Be calm. Stay with the latest trends. Ok, now I'm done with da tips, lol,
wear a babydoll shirt from Weat Seal, a dark denim mini from anywhere, and some matching flats and a headband. Also, get a purse from Forever 21.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

just wear whatever you feel comfortable in and you shouldn't care about what other people will think of you.
and as for tips, don't try to ditch your true friends for the 'popular' ones. especially if you're not into the whole party scene. also, don't get on the seniors' nereves. most of them always think that they're too good to hang out with freshmen.
don't slack either because then it will come back to bite you
good luck and have fun in high school

Hey, I was a freshman! lol. You should wear whatever you like. Whatever makes you comfortable and happy. If you want to wear high-fashioned clothes, go ahead. Maybe people will compliment you, and ask where you got them. Or maybe ask to borrow some. I learned a lot in my freshman year. And...it was definately tougher, academic wise because I took all advanced classes. Boys ruined everything. I lost my independence.. almost everything you can think of ALMOST got destroyed in my freshman year. I've learned to accept things. If I want to wear heels because it makes me feel feminine, I can wear it. If I want to wear eyeliner, I can. Not because it's what everyone's doing. It's because I like it. I didn't follow a lot of fashion trends because I didn't like them.. like the skinny jeans. I was always told.. "you dress so...simply^^". loool. But yea, just be who you are, and work on getting good grades, making GOOD friends, and don't let assholes ruin you. Make the best of these high school years because... it'll be over quicker than you think. And, make good decisions! lol. Because in 4 years, you'll be on your own. Freshman year was the first step for me to get a little taste of the real world. ;) good luck! Don't do stupid things... like my "friends" did. <3

this is what i did go to american eagle get a pair of jeans and a graphic T and a cute purse and flipflops and sunglasses..do that and sprunch your hair!!then later you can dress cuter and look more stylish but the first day you want to look laid bak and not to look like your trying to hard on the first day..then upper highschoolers won't call you a stupid freahmen trying to get attention but then a couple of days after the first day dress stylish . is ok but don't do it everyday and don't look like your trying to fit in, be your own person and the high schoolers will accept you alot easier!!hope it helps
