Denver or Houston for vacation with young children?

My husband and I would like to see the Chicago Cubs play away for once. We have vacation scheduled next month while the Cubs are on the road. Should we go to Denver or Houston?

We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. They seem too young to really enjoy the excitement of Denver, (horseback riding, hiking, etc.) Any recomendations for things to do in Houston at their age? I can't decide....

I live in Houston. It has a lot to offer as a city (great job market, lots of good restaurants, steady housing market, etc.) but I can't see why you would choose Houston over Denver for vacation. The climate there is nicer, there is plenty more to do outdoors, and it's just a prettier place. Go to Denver. If nothing else, you'll avoid the horrible traffic here.

Well you could take them to see the flooding in Texas (recently brought on by 2+ weeks of rain there). That, or a lot of the refugees from New Orleans and other states that keep getting sent there from other disasters. There are quite a few amusement/theme parks in that area, maybe that might appeal. Keeping them to 1/2 days of excitement will probably be enough for them. Maybe visit a horse farm could be fun too....
