When a guy calls a girl "Yo" and/or by her last name, does this mean he's not into her beyond friendship?

Perhaps he is simply too dumb to think of any other greeting.

He may be going with "Yo" because he wants you to think he is keeping everything casual, but he may like you.

Personally, I don't think I would want someone that can't express themselves, but the very question suggests both of you may be in early/mid teens, so he may just think he's cool, but the adults know different.
