Spending the day at the park is a wonderful idea. I did a few of those when dating my husband. Also you can find in your local area in the newspaper what's happening in your area. In my area there are always posting in the newspaper usually thursday on all the happening in the city. I have go to free art shows. so many expositions. There are so many things but sometimes people don't even see these posting. I did a lot of things so I hope you find some in your area!

    Good luck

Go to the park & take a picnic, watch the sunset, walk down an old main street, visit downtown area you live in, if your outdoorsy maybe explore some park areas around where you live, beach if thats closeby, go swimming or take a bike ride, cook dinner at home and watch a movie....

    Hope this helps

check out the local events. Usually there are TONS of free events at museums, festival plazas, free comedy nights, etc. This is what my hubby and I did when we couldn't afford to go out and we had the most fun discovering things about our town we didn't know (together-which made it even more fun). Usually the arts council or the tourist bureau can help you out. Have FUN!

You shouldn't be spending money anyway my darling. If a guy is too cheap to pay out of his own pockets for the first couple of dates...just drop him.
