what is this movie?

what is the older movie that at one point, a movie theatre or something similar burns down and a black guy either gets killed or saves somebody, but it turns into a racist thing, i cant think of the movie but i remember watching it please help

i didnt mean the whole "and the black guy" thing to be racist

    Definitely could be Do The Right Thing, Radio Raheem (Bill Nunn) is killed by cops and then in retaliation the pizza place owned by Sal (Danny Aiello) is burned down. Great movie
