Where would you rather live: Canada or U.S.A.?

I've got the choice between the two, and I'm pretty conflicted. I guess I'm looking for educated opinions about the differences between both sides, socially, economically, etc.

I realize this question will probably generate alot of patriotic crap from both sides, so let me just say that I won't find it at all helpful, and if you're intelligent enough, please avoid it.

Depends upon your preferences between living in a city, or not. If you're more of a city person, I'd say Canada. Their cities are cleaner, less crime ridden and overall like the rest of the country...a better place to live due to a better quality of life.

    Weather is apparently a non-issue.

Universal health care alone should be reason enough. Despite the spin placed by people here in the US about the "quality" of our healthcare system. It's quality if you're fortunate enough to have the means to afford it and aren't a member of a crappy HMO, a senior citizen on Medicare, Medicaid, a veteran, or most unfortunately one of the 44 million in the US without ANY health insurance.

Socially Canada is more progressive than the US. A Red State-Blue State map should serve as a reminder. Predjudice is far more diluted and issues that we're still grappling with, such as gay marriage, are non-issues there.

Acceptance versus lack of, should speak volumes about who lives there.

Much is said, most all from Americans, about the "tax burden" in Canada. However upon closer inspection, it'll become evident it's pretty close to the US tax rate, the difference being how the tax revenue is spent. Canada doesn't spend it on a meaningless $450 billion war in Iraq, rather health care and education for it's citizens.

    My advice: Run, don't walk.

A little more info about why you have to choose would be helpful but I think you should go over the pro & con of each choice!

Do a list. Pro USA on one side & pro Canada on the other. Then do another list, against USA on one side & against Canada on the other. This should help you to sort out the genuine reasons from the non-genuine.

My great-grandparents were born here in the USA, and I've lived her all my life. I dont know what it would be like to live in Canada, but if there was ever a draft, I would consider moving there so my boys wouldn't have to fight in this stupid Iraq war.

I am really angry at the politicians in the U.S., I think they're just a bunch of greedy bullys. So if it was my decision I think I would rather live in Canada.

I've heard that you can have dual citizenship from both countries. But I prefer Canada.
