Pakistani troops have retaken control of the Red Mosque, clearing out the extremists?

These extremists have been using the Red Mosque as a "school" to re-educate children into becoming suicide bombers and re-educating prostitutes to their "correct" way of thinking.

How great is it that now they are no longer able to use this sacred mosque as a school to raise hate-filled children?

And do you think we need to see more of this sort of action from Muslims against the extremists?

More! Not that I'm a fan of Pres. Musharef, but any time you see secular muslims fighting extremists then you know the world is on the right track.

I think that was horrible.. The whole thing...how could those idiots actually do violence and kill people in the mosque! and they call them self Muslim! Islam does not allow you to capture women and children against there will in cause of Islam! NO WAY! those people need to be behind bars along with Musaraf! I don't care how much who likes him but that guy is evil! There had to be another way then to just barge in there killing people! 400 people? I mean cmon don't tell me that FBI would not have found a better way to solve this

to the answer way above Salman Rushdie is irreverent to this cause! it is of course wrong and evil to chop some one's head of because they wrote a book, but what made the public mad was when the queen gave him knighthood thus encouraging people to insult Islam and Muslim people! if he had written a book like that about Christianity and Jesus (pbuh) there is no way in hell that he was going to get knight hood

We need Madrassas that can show the best of Character in the Holy Quran through our actions then speech. From where did they get those kalashikos into a mosque where one is supposed to do worshipping God and nothing else. Pakistan, however is doing its action to please US. Some people call its president a Bush-rough.

A good thing, but one that cannot obscure Pakistan's many, MANY human rights abuses and religious persecutions. Their government has too much innocent blood on it's hands, and innocent blood does not wash off with the blood of those who are actually guilty.

According to todays situation, Mr.Bush is the biggest Extremist (Christian)in this world. so, why don't we need to see more of this sort of action from all of us, to defend this man from invading other countries... who is killing innocent lives in the name of war...

By "more of these actions" I hope you don't mean going around to different mosque's in American and overthrowing them. That would be pretty irrational.

i think that what happened is good in stoping these people.. but i believe that the intentions of the pakistani government were wrong... dont get me wrong... what i am saying is that they should have done what they did in the name of Islam rather in the name of the so called "American Democracy"...

What 007 discovered they were being trained in their public churches.....give me a break. That improvement is like finally getting them to flush the toilet.

Definetly, although to be honest, I dont believe there is any extremists...just Muslims taking the Quran's violence literally...the majority that is...
