How can I escape my verizon wireless contract without being fined?
I signed a verizon wireless 2 year contract, it's been a year since. I have a shared plan with my wife. We decided we dont want cell phones anymore and would rather have a land line at home. What ways can I do to get out of the contract without being fined? Can I tell them I'm broke? Or can I tell them I'm moving to an area that doesn't have verizon service? It's too much and I would rather save the money.... Anything will help, thanks

The early termination fees would apply if disconnecting early. To answer your other questions...
"Can I tell them I'm broke?" - They will offer any options to reduce your monthly cost. It would not constitute waiving the fee.
Moving out of area - You must provide proof. Physical documentation is required for this reason.
You can ask around and if you have a friend or family member looking to get service they can assume the contract in their name and in that way you would not be charged the fee.

They have plenty of lawyers who have covered all the loop holes. Basically you will have to wait it out. You might get lucky and try lowering your rate plan BUT be sure it does not renew or extend your contract when you do that. The reason you have a contract is to recover the cost of the phones you took at a discount and what it cost them to have you started on their service.

The best thing to do is to switch the contract to another customer's name. You can do this via cellswapper.com which is the most famous one, offer incentives like a $15 gift card with the cellphones and plan and you can be able to get a customer and you'll not be fined.
