Lenovo (formerly IBM), Dell, Toshiba and HP all make a quality product and typically provide decent service. My first Compaq was a Compaq plus 20 years ago and the last ten years I have been using Toshiba laptops.
Not sure why you are asking, but if you are considering buying a laptop you might consider your needs and which laptop would best meet your needs. Consider you applications, the features you need and your budget.
If the HP and the Toshiba both will run your applications, are within the feature set you want (size, display size, weight, battery life, etc.) then I think you would be happy with either manufacturer.

I have 3 Toshiba's and my mom has 1. They are great never had a problem. I also had a dell so did my mom, aunt, and best friend. Nothing but problems. I can't remember but it was on 20/20 or 48 hours where they were saying they found Dell was not actually giving their customers what they were asking for. Basically ripping people off.

With the Dell, the Latitude series is better than the Inspiron, and with Toshiba Satellite Pro is the best series, but avoid the Tecra models.

Toshibia is the orginial laptop. I have two with no problems. We also have Gateway and here again, no problems. Many friends have Dells and swear by them. But for the price, I'd probably go with a Dell.

I purchased a Dell about a year ago. No regrets, they have been very helpful when I have had questions.
How did you attach the pop up? This almost feels like spam, and that is against the rules, dude.

Dell helps out if you have problems with anything. I completely dismantled my lap top trying to figure out how to fix it, I sent it to dell and dell fixed it w/ no problem.
