those people that hate tattoos?

Why do the people that hate tattoos always answer the questions in the tattoo section with "tattoos are ugly!" or "you will regret it, trust me!" (especially the 'you will regret it' answer when the person answering that doesn't have a tattoo of thier own to judge from).

If you don't like tattoos, fine. But why come to the tattoo section just to tell everyone that you dislike what they do to thier own body. Why do you care? We don't go to the clothing section and tell you the clothes you like are horrible or anything like that. Just accept that some people DO like tattoos. Some of us WON'T regret them. Don't litter your ignorant comments all over threads you don't even have interest in!

Update:

For the person that asked what the question is, I guess you should say the question is "why do those that dislike tattoos feel the need to tell us that DO like tattoos that their opinion is superior, even though they have no experience with the subject matter?". (For sake of having a "question".)

I agree. I personally like tattoos, and any tattoo I get will be for me, not for anyone else.

    As far as anoldmick's comments:

    (1) I don't think you realize how many people you probably know with tattoos. I know pastors, non-profit workers, CEOs of companies, doctors, pretty much people from ALL walks of life with tattoos. Most people just choose to get them where they aren't visible all the time.

    (2) Like I just mentioned, most people get tattoos where they are easily covered. This will NOT hurt your chances of getting a job.

    (3) If you go to a clean, reputable tattoo studio, your chances of getting a disease are slim to none. The people that end up with Hep-C have usually gone to 'scratcher', not a reputable artist.

    (4) I don't believe that the majority of people see someone with a tattoo is automatically untrustworthy and find tattoos replusive. Did you know that over 1/3 of adults are tattooed? It would be hypocritical for those people to be tattooed and then to judge others. And I'm sure more than 17% of untattooed people do not find tattoos repulsive or see those with them as untrustworthy hoodlums. That's your 50% right there.

One thing thats always bothered me (the most) is people saying that whole "when your old" thing. I think its like a "battle" scar, but a "lived life" scar. The movie the Guradian says it the best...

Ya' know what though, I don't mind. I mean if my muscles ache, it's because I've used 'em. It's hard for me to walk up them steps now, its 'cuz I walked up 'em every night to lay next to a man who loved me. I got a few wrinkles here and there, but I've layed under thousands of skies with sunny days. I look and feel this way, well cuz I drank and I smoked. I lived and I loved, danced, sang, sweat and screwed my way thorough a pretty damn good life if you ask me. Getting old ain't bad Ben. Getting old, that's earned.

I love the assumptions that they make. "You will regret it." Not likely. They are not us, how would they know? Also the people that say tattoos are ugly when your old and wrinkly make me chuckle. Like people without ink are going to be drop dead gorgeous at the age of 80. Not bloody likely.

Sorry, but everyone gets old, everyone gets wrinkly. The only difference is all of us inked people will have a splash of colour among the wrinkles.

Source(s): Tattooed and proud. And I don't regret it.

Ignore the jerks. In the end, if you get a tattoo, you have to live with it. So when you decide to get a tattoo, keep that in mind. It's just my opinion, but the "complainers" have no imagination.

It's been said before, but I really like the quote:

The difference between modified people and non modified people is modified people don't care about what the others do to their bodies.

    I couldn't agree more.

I just love it when people A) comment on something they know nothing about and B) think their ignorant opinion is so important they have to voice it even if it doesn't relate to the question.

To the guy above me talking about Mr. Rogers, that's an urban legend and shows how little research you've put into your post.

  • 1 decade ago

ummm not to be particular or anything but what exactly is your question? Why do they care? I would answer with a question my friend "why do you care about their opinion?"If you got a tatto and it was/is something that means something to you and you like it then what does it matter what someone else thinks? It isn't what they put on it is what you chose to do.

I dont have a tattoo nor do I want one but I can certainly see the artistry involved.....although I dont go to the tatto section nor did I even realize that there was one here.

As for Mr Rogers perhaps you should check out Snopes. that is an old urban legend and it is totally false. he wore the sweaters because his mother made them for him now isnt that special.

because some people can't see past the ends of their own noses. and as far as the mr. rogers story goes, i heard he was a navy seal and had old navy tats on his arms and that is why he always wore sweaters.
