I'd like the opinions of Muslims, but all people are invited to answer this question.?

How would the muslim world feel about the United States, if we were to elect a woman as our president? The category for this question is very difficult to determine. I guess it should be in politics and government, but I wouldn't mind using more points, to get the most honest answers!

Update:

I'm really disapointed. I beleive this is a very important question. We, as voting Americans, could quite possibly elect a woman as our next president. And knowing how the Islamic religon, feels against women, it's VERY IMPORTANT to know what they think. So far, there have only been six answers. I know that Americans can be eaten-up with apathy, but I didn't realize it was this bad. I guess we really don't care how the rest of the world feels about us.

This truely tells me that most Americans don't care what the rest the rest of the world thinks of us! This is exactly what caused most of the other governments throughout time, to fail. We really need to WAKE UP!

Update 2:

ITS AMAIZING, ITS AMAIZING!

I Aked this question so long ago, that I don't remember when it was. It thoroughly blows my mind that so few people are willing, let alone, able to answer such a question. It breaks my heart that so few americans realize that if we elect that WITCH (Hildegard, Wilhelm Clington'S wife), we will be even more laughable, than they presently belive. I guess we deserve to see our way of life just end. The dems do not want us to win the war on terror, so I guess our boys and girls are dying on the other side of the world for no good reason. I served my country in the 60's and 70's, when we came back the people that we fought and died for, called us baby killers and worse. What are you ungrateful *sses going to call our nation's best, when they come home? Sometimes because of the way you people act, I'm ashamed to admit that I'm American.

I am waiting for answers from Muslims. The answer above about Pakistan seems to make sense and India (with large Muslim population) too has had a woman Prime Minister.

The question seems more complicated when we are dealing with Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Palestine.

I am not a Muslim, but I am a thinker. I see the Muslim Nations resenting a woman president. In my opinion, Condi is a very feminine soft spoken gentile woman, and although she is a woman of power she does not offend the Muslims' belief in a submissive woman. We all see the smiles when Condi is in the picture, but how many of those countries have paid any attention to what she has to say? The total disrespect shown any woman will be twice that shown any powerful woman. Hillary, being the outspoken loud mouth brash woman she is, will only make the Arab Countries angrier.

There may a time when a woman is the right person for the Presidency, and I do hope that happens soon, but I do not see that as a great idea now , and Hillary is certainly not the woman we need to fill that role

I can not imagine any of the nations that subject their women to the point where they will not let them attend school, vote, talk in public, show their face in public, well just about anything in public, would have anything but scorn and disgust for a women in office, especially an outspoken witch like clinton. Right after the first Gulf War it was reported on the news that in Kuwait tradition dictated that women walk one step behind the man in public, At the end of the war that changed, the women walked a few steps in front of the men, reason for the change? Countless land mines left by the retreating Iraq army.

You pose a good question which is far beyond the intellectual capacity of most Americans to answer. I will struggle through it and you can decide if I gave you a plausible answer.

The hatred by the "Muslim" world is not based on who is our President (male or female). It is based on a true reading of the Qu'ran.

This jumbled mix of confusion was written (or compiled) during two distinct periods in Mohammed's life, Mecca and Medina. Each part (Mecca is in at the back of the book) paint a different vision of Islam each diametrically opposed to one another.

Therefore, the "Muslim" world is also fractured.

The Medina haters and the Mecca lovers.

The haters want to kill anyone who is not a follower of Islam, totally without regard to who happens to be our President.

These villains now control the dialog of Islam and they must all be killed. Since they hide behind the Mecca lovers and even their own women and children, me probably need to kill all Muslims. The sooner the better.

Maybe the same way they felt when Pakistan elected Benazeer Bhutto as Prime Minister, in the 80s. Yes she was a woman.

We have had female representatives for a much longer period of time than most Western Nations...The Idea that women have few rights in Islam is utterly false. Prophet Mohammad and the Quran guaranteed women many social and family rights far ahead of their time. Why doesn't anyone ever research their questions before asking?

I am not Muslim, but I will tell you what I know. It all depends on the country they are from. Islam (much like Christianity) manifests itself in many different ways. So, some countries would not see a problem with it, while other countries (on the Arabian Peninsula perhaps) would think less of us.

I wouldn't mind a woman. In fact I'm quite disappointed that women have to be extra cold to try and be like men. They are a little more insincere but I prefer someone who is kind and peace-loving; someone like Mother Theresa or Ghandi. I guess anything at this rate is better than Bush? I think a presidential candidate should be based on their credentials and qualifications not sex. Unfortuanetly I don't think Hilary is VERY qualified (not because she is female though).

    Peace.

After reading your additional diatribe I can see why no one bothered to answer you. World leaders would probably treat her much as they treat Condoleeza Rice. As President a woman would command even more respect.

I'm not sure if any of them know how to use a computer so I wouldn't wait for an answer. I do know they would want a woman president to wear a black garbage bag and never speak. Not really a good question though, not a chance of having a woman president any time soon
