After a surgery, a dog's wound can tend to bleed or seep. This is not a desirable thing, and you should probably take her back to your vet just to have them check and make sure everything is ok. Vet offices usually don't charge you for an exam for a surgery re-check, but it would probanly be a good idea for your vet to check the spot and make sure it has not gotten infected or irritated from your dog licking or messing with it. If it is your dog that is upsetting that spot, she might have to wear an E-collar (Elizabethan collar), otherwise known as a cone collar. Hope she does well!

When vets close the would with glue they usually leave a little opening for it to drain. It is normal as long as it isn't severly inflamed with a lot of heat. Put some neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment on it and it should speed the healing process as well as minimize the scar. We just had our dog spayed and it was infected really bad with stitches and I wish they would have used the glue! Good Luck to your dog!

Glue is usually pretty good. Is there bright red blood, or lots of it, or is the blood mixed with serum, and watery? There will be a small amount of drainage normally, and it will not be bright red, but watery. It won't be enough to wet a cotton ball. If you have any worries, call the vet and ask. That's why he gets the big money. :-)

No it's not!
Back to the Vet as soon as possible, and it should be fixed without further charge. They did not do a good job if it starts to bleed. They might need to use the convential stitching up method.

my dog was stitched up so i didnt have this problem but he did start to pee blood at one point, which fixed itself again on the same day. i think she has ripped the wound open, a downside to surgical glue.
